Radhi Shetty on How to STOP Beating Yourself Up, and START LOVING Yourself Unconditionally

Anything can set you off when you are feeling emotionally raw and trapped within your stress, frustration, or personal doubt. QUOTES:
“Whether you're getting a high from a happy thing, or a low from something that's made you sad, treat them equally. Allow them to feel those emotions equally, because actually, one is not better than the other.” [6:13]
“Even if you want to cry alone, don't see it as a weakness. See it as something that's making you stronger and happier in some way.” [7:41]
“Any emotions trapped in your body, anything mental trapped in your body is going to physically manifest in some way” [9:22]
“Exactly how I do with exercise now, exactly how I see with working out, exactly how I see journaling, exactly how I see my meditation, I see releasing of emotion being just as important. [...] energy is not meant to be stagnant in your body.” [11:16]
“If you just think of one thing that you're good at, and you realize that one thing actually does make you feel very happy, the rest is just bonuses.” [25:52]
“if your weaknesses are something that you really are fixated on, and that you want to change, and you really feel is preventing you from progressing in some way, take one weakness a week, take one weakness a month, however long it takes you to feel like you're a little bit more in control of it, you're a little bit better at it, then you were.” [28:02]
“belief in yourself is what you exude out of yourself, like what people feel the energy that they feel when they're around you. It's everything that you are feeling about yourself within you.” [33:25]
“I really have found so much growth in terms of doubting myself, but also so much growth which has come from the process of doubting myself.” [35:05]
“I don't think self doubt is a negative thing, as long as you are trying to figure out ways to and using it as a platform for further growth.” [35:20]
“...a lot of us use our past to keep us stuck but what we don't realize is, we use our future to keep us stuck.” Lisa Bilyeu [38:22]
“Whatever I'm giving out to people, it's not only what they're receiving is what's being created inside of me, which means I'm choosing to create the energy within me to give out. I can't give out anything that's not already within me.” [43:19]
“So pain and giving out pain is never going to heal your heart from the pain that you're feeling, you're gonna have to heal that, and you're going to have fend through that pain and, and really learn how to digest it, recycle it in a way that it's coming out of you in something better.” [45:56]
“Yes the work is done by me but that work is supported through the nourishment that I receive through my teachers, through nature, through my parents, through the person that I randomly meet that inspires me.” [53:22]

I love what you said about crying as a release and trapped emotions manifesting physically. That's exactly why I give my kids space to cry and release their feelings without shutting it down. They are always so much lighter and happier after a good cry. But then again aren't we all?

This really spoke to me, im older now but i came to realize it was important to heal myinner child to better love those around me including myself and i think that a healthy amount of crying is okay and it helps you to reflect on things (when you make time for it )that i never got to before in this busy world, and it takes a while sometimes

This reminds me when I'm Journaling or meditating and then I start crying. At first I didn't understand it, but then I understand that this is emotions that needs to be released. I'm not alarmed anymore when I cry, I now feel good because I understand it.

Yes, I have learned how to accept all my emotions whether I want to experience them or not. If I have to cry,I cry. I realize trying to suppress the emotions prolong the pain I feel. However, when I just "sit" in my feelings, they are organically released from my emotional body.

I truly agree with Radhi for saying not to keep our emotion inside, but to let it out and bawl our eyes out and have ugly cry. I do that all the time whèn I have a ugly cry after that I feel much better. It's helpful and healing it's reliefs stress completely.

Yasss! At some point we all have moments of “I didn’t like myself.” Crying 😭 is cleansing for the soul. I’m so glad and grateful that I shifted old beliefs about vulnerability and weaknesses. It’s just emotions and energies trapped in our body. That’s it. Removing the drama of from it all is easier these days rather than making it wrong or right. I feel lighter now because I released everything that no longer serves me. Blessings to whoever is reading this. It’s okay to cry and be sad. ❤️

You're (lisa's) comment about being proud of yourself and how hard it is for you to say out loud, woah that hit home. It definitely struck something in me. I struggle with this, why is it so hard, and "bad" to say "yea, I am proud of myself", why should we feel ashamed to say that about ourselves. Why is it perceived as bad to have confidence in ourselves, and to own our successes.

Yes, releasing of emotions is so good for us even though we don't always want to do it. It's a spiritual thing also. We tend to hold on to so much but God knows it's great to release those emotions especially if they are negative and if they are holding us back. It helps us to be able to move forward and not stay stuck in that negative place. I love Radhi's teachings and that she tells us to meditate and journal to help us understand ourselves more. Something I need to work on a lot more.

Great interactive interview ladies! Being proud about ourselves is actually linked with our worthiness and not our ego. It’s not about pride, it’s about Praise. The meaning we give to our words is running our mind and self talk all the time. If the meaning we give to our words keeps us stuck in same self defeating cycle, then change the meaning and you’ll be able to change the narrative till becomes ingrained in our brain. Let’s praise ourselves, be proud and celebrate small wins to boost our self esteem, self worth and confidence. That’s Self Love. When I get out of my old way and handle a situation using a different lens and approach than I’ve used to, I catch and tell myself “that was good, that was so good I wanna kiss myself”😁

And when you said that in order to give something (ex: anger) you have to creat it within yourself first and that is horrible for the world and for you...damn, it hit me! If I have to spent energy creating and giving an emotion, I rather creat something positive.

Love this conversation. I'm also a vegan chef and I'm a crier. Back when I owned my restaurant I was so burned out that I'd literally get in my car and cry every night. I'm now in self care and repair mode but grateful for the experience. Love this conversation and how genuine she is

What do you do if you miss someone and you can not ever see them again because they have died and you are grieving them. What actions can you take because you won't see n can't see them ever again. My best friend lost her mum she's really missing her she can't ring her and tell her because she's passed away so I suggested she just talk to her because she is shining down from heaven and listening the same with God n jesus. I told her to just talk to them and cry it out. I totally agree with you the releasing is so healthy.

I love when people recognize crying as a strength. When our bladders need release, we do it. So why not let your eyes pee?

You are so cool. You have such a mean haircut (no offense, just my stereotype, and I actually really like it,) but such a kind personality.

What would you suggest in a toxic relationship when your sons baby mama is keeping their baby from the family because her and I don't get along. She's been very abusive to my son and he wasn't raised around it. So around the pain how do you navigate that
