To be fair, at debut she put a lot of emphasis on her bad habits, so that's how most people got to know her. But she both has more interesting facets than that and improved a lot on those aspects.

Maybe since its not native, you have to think about what you will say more, so it tends to come out a bit more slowly and clearly?

For real though, non-native speakers tend to be better teachers for beginners or in a formal setting.

Kiara's got a great vibe with many people, I now realise. Also great to see Raden expand her collab sphere - definitely some good synergy going on here.

In many ways it can be better to learn a language from a non-native speaker. They had to learn it themselves and are more actively aware of its aspects - especially irregularities or unique rules, which may simply never occur as odd to native speakers.

This video is confusing to me like how Raden's voice flavor and her vtuber model's flavor is so contrasting like I watch the whole video and I'm still asking myself "is that voice coming from Kiara or Raden?" Kiaras english came a long way

I get this. Having several cousins have since migrated over to the States, their English tends to be more formal and while they can’t always pick up some of my native nuances - in turn they recall more of the bones of the language that I’ve long since forgotten as I’ve just internalized it all… they can teach each other the basics while I teach them subtleties.

To be fair, as a native English speaker it is hard for me to even tell that Kiara has a German accent. I just assumed she was American until I learned of her origin.

It's better to learn a language from someone who had to learn it themselves (unless they are a qualified teacher or have studied their own language academically). Native speakers don't have to 'learn' their language, so they often have no idea about the quirks of the language that trip up learners, and can't answer most questions about rules or grammar because they've never had to learn them.

Every fucking short i see of kiara os she making the whole thing about herself.

i think Kiara, being esl, is probably a better english teach to her japanese coworkers because she probably understands better what would make it easy to learn a native english speaker who doesn't specifically teach it or study it would not 100% notice certain intricacies that could make it hard to comprehend

Quite plausibly, since you don't take all the weird idiosyncrasies of the language - which is basically a creole when you get down to the brass tacks - as a given.

It's interesting how good Kiara's Japanese pronunciation is, when her English pronunciation is so bad.

just going off of pronounciation german should be easier to learn than english. since the vowels very similar. but when it comes to grammar... even native germans struggle

Raden probably should have ask Dad to teach her English since she back in Japan, easy to reach, has teaching experience, and is a native English speaker. Also she probably won't teach Raden any swear words.
