The fact that Americans started to confuse these two terms has made it so the latin people started to refer to themselves as romance people (As in descendants of Rome) which is a term that americans might already confuse with the romani people. So they started calling themselves Meds or European Mediterranean people. You should not confuse the terms latin and latino because latino was never a term to refer to you, latin is.

Scientists did a study on this. I forget the exact details but they would show a group a bunch of circles and tell the group to find the blue circle. Of course the group would find the circle easily on the first test. So they'd keep repeating the test an making the colors harder to spot. Eventually, the Group would keep finding a "Blue circle" even though there were no blue circles on the board. At this point they were all shades of purple. But the group would be convinced there was a blue circle to find. The conclusion was; If you cannot find what you are looking for, sometimes our brains will invent it so we "find" the thing we are looking for. If you are looking for racism, you're going to find it eventually. Because your brain will invent a scenario for you to find.

What many don't understand is why the British and Spanish had such an easy time "conquering" the world. The answer is they didn't. Let me tell you as a person of Dominican family, my father would always remind me, we're 'Mestizo'. What's funny is that my family is always open minded, but we lean toward the indigenous side because of our features. I took the Ancestry test, and yeah, my theory was right, and Dad too! Indigenous South America (Bolivia and Peru), and some indigenous Dominican Republic and Haiti (our rivalry is REAL). And...Spain/Basque, Portugal, and low Irish. As well as some areas near the African coasts. But yeah, if your family has been around for a long time, no duh is your ancestry gonna be fruity! 🎉😂 P.S. On the Hispanic side (less commonly Latino/South American origins) our community always teaches about Metizo children and mixing. Some people must have forgotten about how Colonialism impacted their families and countries.

I don't know what percentage I am of anything, but as a mexican all I know is that my bloodline is a genetic stew. My mom's grandfather (from her mother's side) was French. From my father's side; his grandmother (from his dad's side) was a white Spaniard woman. And she had my grandfather with a half Mexican, half Irish man (my great grandfather.) And so my great grandfather's dad was a full on Irish man. From my dad's mom side there were a bunch of natives, Chinese, etc. Just asians and brownies. When I discovered that I had white people in my bloodline I wasn't like the racists in the video. I had joy in my heart that there were a bunch of suckas from all over the world in my family tree from all skin colors. Since my girlfriend is a white girl, I could be a bit biased. But I'm not a liberal so that's also what has me in the right state of mind.
