This 70-minute video lesson explores an in-depth look at the Prelude in G major, Op.32 No.5 by Sergei Rachmaninoff. You played the opening fabulously. LOVED the pedal cam!! I am about to embark on this, after Op23#6 (also gorgeous), so great to find this.
Horowitz plays this prelude in his Moscow concert, and boy he plays it superbly. It reminds me of a gentle summers day. A brilliant piece.
Thanks for making tutorial for this beautiful piece, Josh! This is a piece which I really want to practice and play, and this tutorial provides so many useful tips, especially the tip to handle the polyrhythm.

great vids as always, Josh or anyone, is there a maximum number of times in a day you can practice a tough passage up to 16 bars that might need 300 repeats to get right before additional repeats start to lose effectiveness....thks.
Steve Hackett's first acoustic guitar "hit" was based in this intro using harmonics on an acoustic guitar in 1973

I think that was a Bach piece.
so 8 vs 5 just make it fit? thought we would have to mathematically get it correct too lol
