I loved Rach Gia. There's something so charming about this small city in the Mekong Delta. I felt a sense of peace. Compared to other cities and towns nearby, Rach Gia is growing and developing very quickly. There were plenty of things to eat in the new development reclaimed area, such as grilled meat and snakehead along 3 thang 2 Street. Oh, and there was sweet Vietnamese dessert as well.

I've gone to the USA to study for only 6 months from Rach Gia, my old town. The unique thing ab it is the vibe of hanging around every night. The urbain-air city offers coffee shops, bistros, bars, karaoke clubs, and seafood n hot pot restaurants. In the morning, ppl get coffee before going to work, gifted students go to school early, westerners or europeans head to market to try local fresh seafood and then buy tickets for sailing to Phu Quoc Island for vacations. This lifestyle offered by the city is so so western!. I hope the city gets invested in to transcend the seawall into a beach. One thing that I am so proud of being born there is the competitive education offered: English is something we kids there really excel at. If there is the beach and the ppl of city use English as the main language in the next ten years, I will be so exited to be back!!!

Thanks for dropping by my home town.....too bad I wasn't there or I would of been the best tour guide :)
Hi Kyle and welcome to Rach Gia. Great to see your presence. During one night I was wondering if you would do me the honor of stopping by to eat from my little brother's bach tuoc nuong cart on the sidewalk close to the Rach Gia market. It would be wonderful to get to see yall there together from here in Houston. The cart reads "Bach Tuoc DANH". Take care and have fun.

heeey! is that your drone?? RG is my hometown. I was there this past june.
And I thought I knew Vietnam. Yeah right! Never heard of Boba tea before. Had to look it up. Will try it when I return to Saigon in March 2017. Pineapple looked good too. Is that a Mekong Delta thing with that woman carving it for you on the roadside?
I love Valerie's laugh haha.
Thanks, Kyle.
Anh xuống khu Phú Cường để hangout nhé kkk rất vui
That pineapple vendor handled that clever like it was a pocket knife..........
How I miss the sound of the cars horn.. hahahaha. Going to Hanoi in jul. I´m taking my drone with me... So I want to ask you, if there is any ruels on flying in Vietnam?

Rạch giá my hometown
hey mate. so, when I was there, I was that typical tourist passing through. We were there only in the night, the reason being, the tour operators in Saigon at the time advised not even bothering, they need to stop influencing the journey. Thankfully that was years ago and I wouldn't be taking advice from that kind of negativity these days. Ironically, we got to phu quoc and it was the worst monsoon hill mudslide I've ever seen hehehe. Fun times anyway. Loving the hair hun you look cute. Saigon misses you x
Beautiful..
You gotta go to the country side of rach gia, Kinh 5 Tân Hiệp Kiên Giang.
You has to take out the green part in the center of lotus seeds then eat the lotus seed meat, the green part is bitter.

Is Okra a common vegetable in Vietnam? I see you had it cooking on the round grill? I am from the American South and love Okra. How is it usually cooked in Vietnam?

Okra is not a common vegetable in Vietnam. We steam them and use as side dishes and/or salad (goi?). Sometimes they can be thrown over the fire/coal to grill as finger foods for drinking (w/i beer). As Lala said it, they're more popular in sour soup dishes. I've seen them deep dried but I have yet to see them as fritter the way American deep south do it.
are u still in Rach Gia? Jezzzz, miss a chance to see ya, i could be a guide for ya maybe, cause RG is my hometown... lol
