That's a story that's awesome to hear! Think that you are a proud dad hearing him talking all day of his experience. Nice of James and Kevin to get him to take a closer look of Ruby. Don't know how old your son is. But many racedrivers start with driving and compete in go-karts. Look up around where you live if you have such of a go-kart track. To see if your son likes. Just a friendly tips. And tell him at least in the past Cleetus drove go-karts with friends quite often with Jeremy from Fasterproms and the friends in the dragracing scene that where to visit. Think that they can start with Junior Dragracing quite young as well.

Take a car to the track with some friends. You dont have to be fast and break shit to enjoy and respect the craft of drag racing.....but it helps lol

I didn’t understand drag racing, until I realised that the race starts when you pick your tools up.

    B. W. Learn to fabricate, do diagnosis and repair cars and you can make a real nice living. My son is 32 a master tech in a chevy garage and makes six figures. I'm very proud of him and he loves what he does.

Paul Martin - You know, I’m past the point of needing a job as an auto technician, but there’s always been a part of me that wishes I’d had access to a technical education when I was growing up. I hope it’s changing, but the trades often get grouped as like what someone does if they can’t concentrate in high-school or couldn’t get into university. As if pursuing a trade was selling one’s self short. But the truth is that some people just find that they’re passionate about trade work, such as working on cars, or at least more interested in that than English Lit and this is perfectly fine. They aren’t pissing on their “dreams” or wasting their potential or whatever. As you say, trade work can be really lucrative and can even lead to a business of one’s own eventually. Furthermore, America needs tradesmen and certain companies will pay for the education their employees need, such as technical welding. So a job is lined up even before the schooling is over! How many Art History grads can say that? So anyway, I’m a huge advocate for more trade education to be available in public school systems and give the kids that want it an education in something they’re really into. Anyway, sorry for the long-winded comment, but it just struck me how cool all that is for your son. I’d love to develop my welding skills and put together a go-kart or something. If I could get to proper car-building in my life, I’d be thrilled.
