alxM3 he was hype becuase he just put 10k or whatever it was into the supra Brian got from then junkyard and he wanted brian to pay him back with money they win from the supra smoking everything they could have fit a few races in no doubt but guess it just didn't happen and by night vin was about to boost that semi and make way more than he would at race wars
@rcairforceone

It could be as simple as Toretto planned to have Brian race (and bet on him, remember "I gotta make some money off your @$$"). After the event with Jesse losing to Johnny, and the fight that ensued, that put getting Brian to race on the back burner.

Craig, again thank you so much for making these. I look forward to every new video that you come out with and smile at these little pieces of gold from the film. I loved the play by play of the back and forth between Rob for your cameo, so cool man, details like that I just love. Every little detail that you might think is boring or "ah no one will care to know this", yes we will! Even for the fact that you listed that the cars you got for Racewars were from your group ArtNmotion - My mouth dropped as I just remembered seeing my favorite poster on my room when I was 13 years old, which was I believe your R34 GTR, blue with the ArtnMotion decal on the windshield, and I believe red accent decals on it. So funny how that one subtitle just ignited that memory but it did - so please keep all the details in these, I've watched literally all of these videos so far and just love every one of them. Cheers man!
Fast fam checking in.
Love this channel and all these "behind the scene" style of videos. Amazing job, keep it up!
With cars running high-strung all day I'm surprised only one engine blew up.
The Fast and the Furious is one of few movies people would care about the behind the scenes 18 years later..great work Craig
Thank you for doing this series Craig. You are filling everyone with joy.
Omg that was you!? I know that's not how you start a race but i loved the look at me, look at me, go thing. Thought it really added to the tension of the race. It was going to end badly no matter how it ended. And your role made it even more tense imo. All these years later I still get stupidly excited for these videos haha.
These snippets are epic. Learning new things about nearly a 20 yr old movie we've all seen hundreds of times!
Back in 2006 when i was coming from High School i started to see this movie evrey day! i was 12 years old! My HEROES! Thanx for sharing!!
Oh man- memories! Nice Craig👍 Remember when we all got the notification for this over the forum, was supposed to go, but couldn’t make it. Several other SoCal DSM members went, and the 2nd gen silver GSX behind the white car (reggae guys lane) was a member. Yeah, heard it was hotter than heck !! Respect to you for trying to keep it real, but that’s Hollywood. One of my favorite short films is “the last race” which did a good job in how the way things really went down, especially here in southern Cal.
I wish there were more people like you that would talk about being in and helping make movies behind the scenes! It really cool to see!!
Not one soul there knew how BIG this movie was going to be... still my favorite from the series 👍🏼
Thank you so much for these videos Mr. Lieberman. It's easily one of my favorite movies and it is GREAT that years later we get some insight on all the behind the scenes stuff. Love your videos.
I recently discovered Lieberman’s channel. Was always well aware of his reputation. I’ve read so many of his articles, the guy was always a legend in my mind. I was buried in the tuner scene with a standard for quality engineered parts and a philosophy of “all go with just a little bit of show”. Seems like a hundred years ago. Seeing Lieberman after all these years and it’s like “wow.. we’re not young anymore”. I’m glad he decided to create this channel though, it brings back memories.. and it’s like seeing an old friend.
Was Rob Cohen as calm and collected under high pressure situations like race wars, dealing with both personnel and technical matters, as he's credited in the bonus features of the first fast film? Also, one of my favourite things about the first two films is their attention to the car sounds. Regardless of authenticity, they really put you in the driver's seat and in the minds of the driver. Like Rob pointed out in the audio commentary of the first film, the street and drag races last a lot longer than 10 seconds in the movie, but the audience is experiencing everything that goes on, both mentally and physically. - And for the record, yes I'm fully aware that John Singleton directed the second film. Craig, could you do a video on the gathering, recording and editing of vehicle sounds for the films? I'm almost certain that even the cars that were used again in the sequel were fitted with different exhaust notes.
I had always wondered who that guy in race wars, at the start of the race was, glad to know it was good ol Craig. Thanks for another great video.
That Foxbody Mustang of yours really looked like a boat load of fun and the paint was really nice. Thanks for sharing the journey with us and it's really cool to hear these stories from someone who was truly there!. Stay great and thanks again!. 🙏

As a kid I watched 2 Fast 2 Furious the most probably, watching the behind the scenes stuff over and over again when Craig shows up talking about the Evo & Eclipse. I remember when I watched the first film again and the Race Wars scene came up I was like: "Hey it's the car guy who worked on the film!" I kind of had a similar reaction when I found this channel too haha.
thank you for sharing this. Ist really intresting to see how everything came together.
You also had some note worthy mini trucks in the series. Skyler's yellow S10 can be seen at Race wars I believe it was the on truck in the shot. In the Prelude Fast and Furious short film you have Steve Platt's Hot Wheels S15. I wanted to go this event, I had heard about it through the grapevine, but had to work. Maybe I can attend the next filming of a Automotive culture phenomenon. Thanks for the stories Craig.

Yep--I never thought about heat till I did my first big budget movie in Atl--I was in a simulated 3 piece suit for a while--and off the direct stage was no AC unless you walked 3 blocks away.I remember taking the top part of my outfit off next to the star of the movie and we were pouring sweat. They had to retouch him and I had to sit in front of an industrial fan for several minutes--to dry the sweat off.It was long periods of boredom--heat--waiting--followed by a few minutes a day in nervousness--excitement --etc.
