😂 I’m still alive lol

Whenever I was 7-8 years old, I had a cat Named Carl and I loved him I really did and I still do, well one day he came home after being gone about 3-4 days which isn't unusual for an outside cat. Well he came back with Rabies but no one knew, he started acting weird and foaming at the mouth and then all the sudden he started attacking me, he jumped on my face ripped up the tissue and left me 3-4 inch scars down my eyes and cheeks that had to be stiched. I was in the hospital for 2 months getting treatment like shots and pills up my bum, it was not a fun time but I'm glad I can tell everyone the story. I do miss that cat though even though he left scars on me.

I'm am sorry you had to lose your cat like that. My cat, Toby, is my best buddy and has attacked me several times but I do get alot of help from that violemt furball. I'll hug my Toby when I get home cuz you hit me in the feels. Have a good life dude and I hope you find a pet that you cherish and can protect.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH ANXIETY: I think it’s important to note that the only reason rabies isn’t said to be the most deadly disease in the world, is because it’s not an easy virus to catch (especially if you live in North America, Europe, and or Oceania/Australia.) Precautions can be taken to ensure you don’t catch the disease, unlike some viruses like Covid or cancer (though I’m 90% sure cancer isn’t a virus). In the United States and Canada (where I live) it’s extremely rare to for a human to get rabies. In the US, there is usually 1-2 people annually who get it, and in Canada, 0 a year, with the occasional slip-up. Even if you were bitten by an animal, the chances of getting rabies are mind-blowingly low (unless you live in Africa or Asia). Bats are the most common carriers of rabies in North America. That being said, if you get bit by a stray animal or an animal you don’t know (such as another owner’s dog) it’s best to go to a clinic just to be sure, the next day at the earliest. Getting rabies is rare, though. Also, it’s worth noting that even if an infected animal bites you, it can’t transmit the disease until it starts showing symptoms, because the virus hasn’t reached the saliva glands yet. Rabies can only be transmitted by wild animals, and thank God it can’t spread from human to human, or else we’d have a problem.

I'm surprised that many still doesn't know what to do after an animal bite. Whether the animal is rabid or not(you can't be so sure). Do not wait to feel something. Just clean the wound with soap and running water and get vaccinated ASAP. That's it. Update: July 9, 2023. I was walking when a stray dog sneaked behind me and bit my calf without making any noise. It ran away immediately and never to be seen again. On August 8 I took my 4th dose of vaccine. 🤞

@@Blackpink.lover08 Yes it can. Animals like dogs lick their bodys or paws. If the skin is punctured no matter how small, follow same steps especially if the dog is unvaccinated for anti-rabies. You should diffinitely need doctors advice.

@@Blackpink.lover08 well I'm not a vet. Based on my research, there's no anti rabies vaccine that offers life-long effecacy. First anti rabies vaccine shots in dogs lasts a year. I believe it's a series of shots that needs to be completed. Your dog is probably safe for now. You'll know if it's rabid because it will drool constantly and change it's behaviour. Two common behaviour of rabid dogs are, they either very aggressive or timid.

when i was a kid i got bitten by dogs twice, after the first bite my parents would take me to get the rabies shots right away its always safer to get the shots as soon as possible, if you get bitten always get the rabies shots no questions asked.

False. If you're experiencing those symptoms and you say you were bitten by a bat, common sense should kick in and the doctor should be able to determine the possible cause fairly easily.

Same it was my first time getting bitten by a dog but the dog was ours. Story time I was 11 i was playing with my dog named moca she is so cute but.. i got but on my face so i scrub with soap and water next day i confess to my mom and she cried. I never seen her cried my family hates me bc it was so close to my brain after that we got to the 1st hospital and said its only gonna open 3 days we got to the 2nd hospital and i was shocked it cost 800k..my mom was mad at me so we got home i cried that my eyes were red bcs of crying i prayed that my parents get the 800k for the shot. Next day i got to the hospital geez.. the shot was on my face and i cried and glad i was safe some months i need to go to the city called "washington" it was only a 15 min drive so i need to get 4 shots in a month 1st was done i was absent in my school in Monday and next day i got in school and my friends was worried and when they say the rashes on my face they said that they got a scar on their face and got bit on their body so yea my last dos was done few weeks ago:) btw if u know im actually from the Philippines! Pls beware of the dogs they may seem playful but ve careful! Stay safe

In rare cases, rabies can be spread when infected saliva gets into an open wound or the mucous membranes, such as the mouth or eyes. This could occur if an infected animal were to lick an open cut on your skin.

A dog made a very small stretch on my hand with it's teeth while we were playing. The dog doesn't present any of rabies symptoms and neither do i, after 1 week and 1 day after the event. The anxiety only attacked me after i remembered i had the stretch, which was 2 days ago. I'm going to make a check up tomorrow because of raw hypochondria, since i don't have any apparent reasons to worry. Update: I'm ok.

I got scratched by a cat on my leg 1,5 year ago, did not take the shots I just washed it off. one month ago I got sick in a very weird way, I had fever, fast heartbeat, non stop nausesia and anxiety/discomfort. Doctor have done tons of blood test but could not find anything related to flu or food poisioning or something, and my symptoms started to get worse I couldnt even sleep without taking sedatives because I feel like my body never calms down. I did not have hydrophobia but it was the food that I never could put in my mouth. Then I suddenly started to get better for some reason and now completely healed. Dont know it was the rabies or not but since it was lowkey weird I wanted to share

The cat is fine( no rabies symptoms) but since than I am having all the above symptoms as well as yours . I didn't cared much as I thought I had A LOT OF DEPRESSION coze I am 20 years old. Avoid stray dogs. Once you are rabid, your death is rapid.

@@hahahaahahahwjw antirabies for dogs is not 100% effective, if your dog bit you like he/she mean it then it is better to observe if its getting weaker or dying. if its healthy then its fine. if your dog acts like its not normal. and exsessive saliva, seizures or gagging and afraid of water. it may have rabies. since your dog is in your house and doesnt get any contact with other dogs that may have rabies. everything is fine. im not scaring you but its better to observe your dog and you should go and get vaccinated asap. i got bit too by my dog 3 years ago. small but the skin peeled off and its bleeding as hell. but since my dog got already injected antirabies. i didnt have to panic. i just cleaned it and bleed it out and now im still okay for the love of god. 😁and for the peace of mind. you should get vaccinated. so you dont have to worry. sorry for my english hehe 🙂

In Great Britain, because of being an island nation surrounded by water, we were mostly protected from the rabies virus by the rest of continental Europe where rabies virus were a problem. Animals such as pets had to be quarantined for 6 months at UK border control before being allowed into Britain. I think now Europe has done much to eradicate the disease since the 1970's and we don't hear if anything about rabies anymore.

My dog randomy licks my feet in the middle of the night, doesn't need water, doesn't need the bathroom,etc. They just think, ''Oooh feet must lick.'' But they arent ever in contact with any other dogs so i don't think it would be possible... And typing this sentence i just realized my dog kills animals occasionally randomly, but its been a good 3 months. I guess ill let you guys know if i died.

I had this other dog, so like 2-3 months ago, I was petting her, and she got overexcited and playful and it scratched me in the leg, i believe. I don't think it was vaccinated but it did not show any sign of the rabies symptoms, no aggression, no foam in the mouth, was basically like my other dog that I mentioned. I did not take any vaccines, am i fine, all i have right now is anxiety and a little itchy throat and that is about it. Am i fine?

I asked my parents and they always tell me to brush it off. The only thing is that my parents have seen dogs who ACTUALLY had rabies. They had stuff like extreme agression, agitation, foam in the mouth, moving all the time, hydrophobia, etc. My parents reassured me that all of the dogs are vaccinated. Experience was very bad though it was my neighbour dog I saw he grabbed a piece of net and I thought it was plastic so I rushed and tried to pull it out of his mouth and i think he got hurt in the process and he bit me he was fully vaccinated but still I don't want to take risk and gone to doctor immediately and they gave me injections

I’m not sure what’s going on but for these past 2 days I’ve been feeling really bad. 3 days ago I got bit by dog who was eating a raw chicken and the exact same day in less than an hour I started developing really weird attitudes. Ever since the first day I literally couldn’t drink any water but my appetite was “ok.” I went to sleep that night and I started feeling really hyperactive and I couldn’t sleep well. The second day when I woke up I tried drinking some water but I couldn’t because it seemed like brain was telling me not to. This is the day when I lost my appetite as well and I felt like I had a fever (lots of sweating) but according to the doctors that checked me my temperature was fine. Today, the third day in the morning I just felt like I didn’t want to get up from bed. I was having a little trip of nostalgia and I woke up sweaty yet again. I tried to eat but I was not feeling hungry. I tried to eat the chicken and I was able to swallow it perfectly but for some reason my brain was telling me not to eat the tortilla. I’m having a lot of trouble swallowing water and it’s making me very anxious. I noticed that I have more saliva in my mouth than usual and I can’t speak well with all this saliva developing in my mouth. I just hope that God has mercy for my soul and hopefully I can recover from this nightmare because this is not a pleasant experience.

Be greatful for your boyfriend, he was educated and wise. The animal was long gone and it was only a matter of time before it infected you. Rabies has a 99.99% fatality rate. Yes it is. In my case the damn doctors got confused and they put me the vaccined with wrong days… i got one day 0 then 3 days i got second then i got the third shot 7 days after the second shot lmao it should be 7 days after the first shot. I talked and saw few doctors to get a shot after a squirrel bite me 4 days ago but everyone gave me wrong information. One ER doctor (toronto Michael garron hospital ER )said I don't need to get a shot immediately. Usually work before 10 days. And he gave me antibiotics medicine and the cream that I can buy it from drug store. I Couldn't believe it and some hospital staffs told me I need to my family doctor not ER. So confusing. My family doctor said I need to go to ER. Walk in clinic near my house said I need to go to ER. But the ER says I need to see family doctor. So weird and so horrible canadian medical system. I miss the medical system in South Korea.

I was going to get my sandals but my dog was near it while she was eating when after I was waiting for her to finish her food so I could get my sandals then suddenly, she bit me, it wasn't that big but my skin was bleeding.

In The Netherlands (Europe) only 5 people died due to rabies in the past 40 years! I was little bit by a german shepard because my dog was fighting him... but i am no longer worried :D Or maybe im very unlucky..
