Since the grotesque Hamas terror attack on October 7 and Israel's near-continuous unprecedented bombardment of Gaza ever since, we have all been filled with shock and grief. The levels of death and destruction are horrific: twelve hundred Israelis killed and another 240 taken hostage, more than 20,000 Palestinians in Gaza, over a third of them children, as many as 50,000 injured, 60% of the buildings in Gaza’s north destroyed, and 1.8 million Palestinians forcibly displaced without adequate food, water, medicine, and essential services.
In response to our government's failure and refusal to stop this horror, we at organization are proud to be partnering with Rev. Jesse Jackson in calling for an Emergency Summit on Gaza, on January 12 and 13 in Chicago.
The summit will feature such esteemed speakers as Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Fahed Abuakel, Dr. James Zogby, Peter Beinart, Congressman Johnathon Jackson, Rabbi Arthur Waskow, Rabbi Phyllis Berman, Dr. Nina Turner, Illinois State Representative Abdelnasser Rashid, Rev.
