His name is Farhad Humayun and the poor guy has been fighting against brain tumour since November 2018. He was also the lead singer of his band called Overload. Checkout some of his performances. He performed in Coke Studio too.

I was in my brother's car and he put on this song which I just couldn't stop listening to ; prompting my brother to play it again and again until the journey ended. I kept on wondering who this special voice belonged to. We hunted for it on the internet and was over the moon when my brother read out "The singer is Atif Aslam." Not knowing who the singer is and falling for a song like this, speaks for the quality of the singer itself without having to say anything else.

Untill yesterday, I was not an atif's fan.. this song changed my mind

@@pratibhashaali Its mostly Faiz Ahmed Faiz's poetry and a lil addition here and there from Atif Aslam. This was actually Atif's album song. That was more of a rock genre, they converted it into a more eastern mix in this version.

This is actually a poem by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, the famous poet of the Sub Continent. Tina Sani also sung this for Coke Studio (titled "Mori Araj Suno") in which the composition is more traditional and paired with another Faiz poem. I prefer that version, but this is also good from a more pop perspective.
