Ustad Nathoo Khan still remains one of the best Sarangi players to ever lived. I doubt even angels can play like him. Amazing!

I can't stop listening to this! I'm in amazment at how powerful, yet nimble his playing style is. Ustad Nathoo Khan is a legendary exponent of the Amritsar Gharana, he was a student of the legendary Ustad Hussain Baksh Amritsari and is one the most remarkable sarangi players of all time, in my humble opinion.

this raag has always been able to match my emotions so well and ustaad is a class of his own, absolute specimen of talent. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to explain to anyone how beautiful and special this is.

The best display of the sweetness of tilak kamod I ever heard,I request Almighty to send khan sahab back to this plannet,just I can't describe the feelings after this matchless rendition by khaan sahab

Nathoo Khan was the geatest Sarangi player of the 20th century. He died young at the age of 51 in Pakistan. His dexterity with cut-bols was incomparable. His exposition of this Raga Tilak Kamod cannot be equalled by anyone else. Ustad Munir Khan who died a few years ago was also a great Sarangi player. But we do not know how many others who went before them were also great, whose recordings we do not have. Over 8 hundred years Muslims gave North India music that now enriches the Sub-continent's spiritual life. Nathoo Khan's 4 other recordings are still available. I will load them up one day.

No doubt, Muslims have a great contribution in our ethos and spirituality. But very few know that there have been Muslim ustads who knew even more of hindu deities than Hindus themselves and were great worshippers. After all, the mere assimilation of rags raginis have a reflection in hindu worships which we just cannot ignore.

The pathos and 'pukar" in Nathoo Khan's taans here, and his cut-bols, and his interpretation of Tilak Kamod here is without compare. Notice the magic of his drut tanas!!

Nathoo khan was discpile of ustad Ahmadi khan. Please also upload rendition of ustad Nabi Bakhsh khan who was also representative of the gharana wherefrom the mastero Nathoo khan learned the great art.
