Raag Tilak Kamod is a fairly well known raag in Indian Classical Music. It belongs to Khamaj Thaat. One can see clear shadows of Malhar Ang, Hameer Ang and Kalyan Ang together with the glimpse of Kedar and Chhayanut. Hence this Raag is difficult to render smoothly. A large number of compositions are based on this rag. These include compositions in genres such as: dhrupad, dhamar, sadra, khayal as well as semi-classical genres such as thumri and dadra and popular forms like ghazal.
It highly resembles Raag Desh, but less intense in emotions. However, within its narrow range of emotions it can be magnificently enchanting. Light classical genres are more popular in Tilak Kamod. It is performed in the second part of the night.

Ulhas Kashalkar is a Hindustani classical vocalist, born in 14 January 1955 into a musical family in Maharashtra. He was initiated into music by his father ​Shri. Nagesh Dattatreya Kashalkar​, an advocate and a musicologist. While ​his music remains deep rooted in tradition, the listeners revel in the experience of listening to a new gayaki. A torchbearer of our pristine tradition, he continues to enthral and take his audiences on an ecstatic journey through his music.
