Pt. Harish tiwari started his Musical endeavor under the guidance of Guru Thakur Choubey in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh.
Inspite of taking taleem from the Gwalior Gharana Harish still had the passion and longing to learn the Kirana Gharana style of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. It was only after a recommendation from the great theatre person B.V. Karanth, that Joshiji agreed to accept Harish Tiwari in the mode of "Guru-Shishya Parampara".
Harish Tiwari has been awarded ‘A’ GRADE in Hindustani vocal music by A.I.R. Delhi.
Raag Kalashree is a creation of the great maestro of Hindustani Classical Music, late Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, the eminent vocalist of Kirana gharana. He was so fond of this chef-d'oeuvre of his, and named his house in Pune Kalashri as well.
This raag is a beautiful amalgamation of raag Kalavati and raag Raageshree.
This baithak was held at the initiative of Ved gupta as a part of Bazm e Khas foundation live concerts.
