I cried too but then Sultan Khan's exposition of the raag's depth before the tabla started, changed everything. Wow.

An otherworldly beauty. Both simple yet profound.

Sultan khan, a magical, ethereal , heavenly being, being a musican and a sarangi player myself, i can say khan saheb has done something unbelievable, each note penetrates your heart with a sword of pain,beauty,nostalgia and the eternal conciousness . . Thankyou for sharing such a Beautiful Artist .

Sultan Khan what a humble man and gifted artist. I met him several times performing around Western Canada and Seattle, he was always warm and approachable.

Isse kehte hain heart touching. Ankhoon mein paani aa gya.

For me the saddest one (raag) that I’ve heard, pierces your heart, smashes it, shatters it.

If i have infinite number of lives to live....Even then can i not fathom what is happening here...It is like usthad ripping out my heart without me knowing about it....I mean just before i can react.....he has already ripped it out....with this heavenly godly rendition....I wish i had met the god...

अद्भुत राग है ये : गज़ब के, कई ख्याल उठते हैं इसे प्रेमपूर्वक सुनें तो ....उत्तर भारत ने इसे कैसी आत्मीयता से अपना लिया है यह सुल्तान खान साहब की सुरीली सारंगी को सुन कर जानिये

ये तो सुर की बातें हैं- - - शब्द तो विवश है कहने में- -

touching the string of heart n taking bursting out tears from the unknown inner self.

This is Perfection. Every phrase is filled with such emotion. Poetry at its finest.

I have never heard a charukesh like the one khan sahab plays.. Very unconventional and very very heart touching!!

Raag charukeshi and ustad sultan Khan sahib made for each other it's very difficult to heard this raag give me lot of pain salute to this sarangi's god

I used to cry to this song in 2013, I’m revisiting and trying not to cry again

My heart cries out when I listen to Ustaad

I wonder: related to Ustad Ali Khan? He even resembles Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan! *what a tribe, family, clan the Khan's are?!!* Probably one of the three greatest musical families on earth. *respect* ☀️😎🙏☀️🇺🇸

@rpb1231 i totally agree i have heard many renditions of Charukeshi but this one is so different, like sent from heaven.

spiritual persons have interest with such kinds of musics. As you as you can go deep on something. Go deeeeeeeeeep

This Raga played in Sarengi..... Is anyone crying at midnight at deepest pain and sorrows, mourning for....shocked severely, in utter despair... Why it brings tear when one hear at deep midnight... Oh Sarengi my Sarengi................

Yes, Rag Charukesi is soul touching. It feels better on Sarengi, Violin types of instrument.

Do you have the full version of this piece? By the way, I'm really confused about the chalan of this raga. I know the 'dha ni sa re ga ma re sa' bit but I'm unsure about the sapaat - whether to go with 'sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa' or 'sa ga ma dha ni sa' as amir khansaheb did in most occassions, that is, leaving 're' and 'pa'. Whether to include or not to include 'pa' in the aroha while going for the full circle taan - can anyone help me please?
