In this episode of Star Wars Lore we take a look a protocol droid that's most commonly referred to as the "Death Star droid", The RA-7 Protocol Droid. A droid that was more than what it seemed to be.

One of my favorite Star Wars action figures back in those dim days of the late '70s.
i love this droid i remember when the jawa's snag c3po and r2-d2 and they put them in that tank like thing they roll in and they show the RA-7 droid looking at r2 1 of my favorite scenes

I hope you’ve seen chapter 22 of mando, has an appearance with a pretty cool looking imperial droid too
I always wondered about this Droid and how it got it's name. I love the central fact of their espionage capabilities. Please make more videos like this.
I came looking for this video after finding out one in a LEGO set is named Ni-L8 and since I loved that pun I had to know more

Well The empire used R2's, R4's and R5's for a variety of different things so whichever model they had available at the time is what the RA7 would get. But thats just what I think

@@StarWarsLore1138 I also recall seeing at least one R3 unit on the Death Star. The strategic designation of the R3 units would go hand in hand with an RA-7 when you think about it.

besides spying on imperial officers and citizens? general maintenance and minor duties usually assigned to droids
