    Good to see you on the mini 👍 Normal to have to drop the gear box oil when removing driveshafts & it's always difficult to remove passanger driveshaft. Don't buy dust shields I have 2 new OEM ones you can have FOC if you want them...

    Getting ready to pull my first mini motor and my first question is why you said it was easier to discharge the ac system than to remove the drive belts. Is there some feat of German dumb-gineering that makes that so?

    I think it's a myth that you should always replace a dual-mass flywheel along with the clutch. Garages make a profit out of markup on the parts for a job, and the DMF is a convenient sell. However, your one looked completely worn out in both axial and radial play.

  • @GeorgeAusters

    @GeorgeAusters

    2 жыл бұрын

    It’s never always NEEDED but they do wear like you say and it doesn’t make sense to have to do the job twice essentially

    @@GeorgeAusters true at the end of the day it all depends on the cost and quality of the replacement parts, and what other things on the car that could better benefit from the money.
