R32 HICAS delete and removal

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Removing your Nissan R32 HICAS system, and still utilize your psp cooler.
just need a spill pan,8mm socket, 10mm socket, 12mm socket. 10,and 12mm wrench, philips, and flat head tools.
You'll need a 3/8" power steering, or AT trans cooler hose about 2' length, flaring tool, and 2 good worm clamps.
There was an R32 GTST and R32 GTR on this video, both use the same system with the same routing.

Very good info! Surprisingly, the other videos don't spend enough time explaining this side of the process. Thanks for your help. Way more confident now to get this system out ASAP

Thanks for all the info. I want to delete the hicas from my gtr. I keep reading online that I'd have to buy a rb25 power steering pump, but thanks to this info it's one less thing I have to worry about.

You don't 'have to' swap to a non-hicas pump, but if you leave a hicas two-stage pump in place after eliminating the rear hicas rack and solenoids, it will continue to activate the second stage which people claim can eventually wear out the pump. You'd have to eliminate the hicas ecu I guess, but I've also heard the hicas ties into attessa ecu and so can cause issues there if you fully remove it. Another solution rather than swapping to a non-hicas RB pump is to open up the stock pump and remove the fins which direct the fluid to the hicas stage and shorten the pump housing. I believe there are videos out there on how that is done. No first-hand experience though.

On The power steering pump side you can either get an R34 pump, or you can simply remove the pump, take it apart, and remove the rotor on the back side of the pump, and block off the feed line from it to the back. You'll also have to do some rerouting of the hoses as well since you'll be removing that hose. Taking the rotor and veins out of the pump will eliminate the chances of it burning out and it will act like regular power steering pump just bigger.
