Swinger story: I have been in that lifestyle (no longer). That is actually something that happens all the time. Many men struggle with watching their spouse of sex with another man, but want to plow the hot 25 year old. Basically it is from insecurities in the man because they didn't spend the time doing the emotional work with their spouse before jumping in.

OTOH, I heard of a guy who talked his very willing straight GF into a MFF threesome. Unfortunately for him, his GF and the third got so "into it" he ended up going down to the Hotel lobby and playing on his phone.

I really feel like these guys just jumped over multiple steps in getting intimate with other people. Having a discussion beforehand about the possibility of jealosy happening feels like a pretty important part of any experimentation like this. Not proper talking about expectations, boundaries, precautions and actually getting to know the people you plan on sleeping with seems like a setup for disaster

He felt like he could just sleep with the other Wife and his Wife would be okay. But he really doesn't get the Swinger Life Style. @@Mokuteke I was thinking the same thing. I also thought (though I can't be sure if that applies in OP's case), that you have to be realistic with what expectations you put on your friends. The overwhelming majority of people has neither experience with serious trauma, nor the training of a professional therapist to adequately deal with someone else's trauma. Sometimes, a 'bad friend' is just someone dealing with their own problems. Sometimes, a 'bad listener' is just someone overwhelmed by what trauma you just shared with them, coping the best they can and struggling for something, _anything_ to say. Sometimes, someone trying to 'one up' your experience is just trying to relate to your situation by sharing their own thing.

@@augustaseptemberova5664 Thank-you. I totally understand OP, and their story made me think of the matrix scene "ignorance is bliss". I don't entirely believe that, because you will bump up against reality, and watching people struggle with that looks to be its own kind of hell. But, in a hell like OP's and mine, it is incredibly rare to meet someone like that person on the airplane. I'm fortunate to have a few people in my life, largely through a lengthy education process on their end. Even then it falls short. People like the other commenters will say, go out, you'll meet people. Sure, but it's like realizing no one in the world speaks the same language as you. Then someone might say, well then learn their language. And that is some incredibly ignorant $%!&. And I have not figured out how to extend the analogy further to someone who has not experienced what I have. I've had bad friends I've had to walk away from after 25 years - but I know, I experience daily, that is not the same as what OP is describing. I think augustus articulated it nicely, but I find even that explanation falls a bit deaf on those who don't have the right experiences or skills. Of course, the truth is that I am not unique in what I have experienced; the thing is that people like me, myself included, can be difficult to interact with. We are, after all, broken to varying degrees or in differing ways. So I don't find any solace there either. The only thing I can offer OP is is that just because most people aren't like the person on the plane, that most people can never see you completely, even as much as some might desire to and try, doesn't mean they don't see you at all. In your own words, you had a great time with your friends. You simply, unfortunately, realized there can be something more. I hope you find it. I never have, and not for lack of consistent trying in my long life. But that doesn't mean you should throw out what you do have. People like us have to find small wins, and learn to live with that.

Normally, when you buy a car they don’t confirm your income like they do with a mortgage. They usually ASK your income, but qualifying for a loan and your interest rate is typically based on your credit history and score rather than your income. The only instance they may want things like paystubs is if you have extremely poor credit and are buying from one of those used dealerships that give out loans at like 24%.

Ok wait, the ice maker. My girlfriend put ice in everything, everything she drinks has ice in it. She would keep making ice in those trays, asking me to make them, go buy bag of ice etc. So I wrote that down for her next birthday: a ice maker. I was looking at them, thinking "wow that's expensive", but I ended up buying her a 500$ ice maker (I would generally buy something around 100-200$ for her birthday). It is by far the best birthday present I ever bought her, she herselft though when receiving it "oh ok, seems a bit expensive for essentially a gimmick" but after using it for a couple weeks, she was super happy and couldn't believe how much she liked it and it basically changed her life. That thing is basically always own making ice or at least full of ice. I would buy that for myself, but for someone who likes ice, it's really cool. It has been more than a year and her next birthday present was nowhere near as cool and I had to tell her "You gotta lower your expectations, I don't think I'll ever be able to top the ice maker". It was just... the perfect gift.

This is a situation he created and that she agreed to so he just doesn’t get to be mad and he especially doesn’t get to be disrespectful

Dude wanted a pass to cheat but got mad OP enjoyed "cheating" too! As someone in the swinger community, I can say this dude was stupid. You don't just JUMP IN HEAD FIRST. You get to know the other party (or parties) on a friend basis first. You test the waters in terms of chemistry. You communicate properly (in person and via messages). You set CLEAR BOUNDARY rules so that no complications arise. And only then, once all those steps were taken, do you jump into the deep end. Because even outside of the bedroom, so long as everyone is still friends, things would/should be gravy. Story 4: wow...well then....that's a real kick in the teeth. Dude played a whole "mourn me when I'm gone, but you well cared for" story and OP is basically suffering the after effects. I say/hope OP should give this guy's ashes and stuff to his family, tell them all his lies, say she isn't "his widow", and move out of state with her daughter. Because no doubt the family will look at them and aways say "your husband was lucky to have you" every single time. It probably would drive OP crazy.

Foursome story Okay so in reality the husband just wanted some spark in the bedroom again and rather than express that, he just wanted to bang other people and brought Op along so it wasn't cheating. What the husband really wanted was more attention in the bed from his wife, which probably means he doesn't pay alot of attention to her and just wants to be taken care of in the bedroom. Op meanwhile needed her husband to show her attention so she could be in the mood to reciprocate. Rather than discuss their love life he looked to others for that attention. If you're going to become swinger's and have couple friends with benefits you need to be solid in your own love life first. You as couple should be going crazy on your own in the bedroom, learning what you both enjoy and trying new things well before becoming a swinger. It also helps that both people in the couple are bisexual and are meeting another bisexual happy couple without homelife issues. Also yes rslash is right, you need to know the personality of the couple first too so meeting in a public hang out spot for a bit first makes sense Op gets 0 outa 5 Husband gets 3 outa 5

You are the investigator the proof you gave him a loan was a state charge and that wasn't even everything, on top of finding out he's been cheating on you. When a guy like that has almost nothing left to lose and finds out someone they know was the person that rather than out it can get bad. And then there's your kids who more than likely don't understand the situation I'm assuming, and don't know everything yet. Plus your oldest is already furious if they find that it was you that sent their death to jail before fully understanding the the gravity of the situation it might lead to more harm than good. I think maybe you want to wait until after the trial, because if it's half as bad as you described as probably an opening check case, and when your kids Rios certain level of understanding. I don't think you should hide it for them forever just something like this need to be explained carefully and you have to consider your safety first.

He blew his money on something he couldn't afford because he thought she'd carry him financially and that's a huge red flag. It's one thing to purchase something you can afford and pay off yourself, but when you require your partner to help pay for it, you absolutely have to discuss first. Honest communication is key in any strong relationship. If you marry a dude like that, you'll regret it, because one day he'll get emotional and blow your life savings on a toy for himself. I have a friend like that. He got divorced sold his house and started pushing for full custody of the kids in court. He then proceeds to blow all of the money from his half of the house sale on a supped up modified truck and had to rent a crappy 1 bedroom apartment that isn't big enough for the kids. He didn't get any warranty or guarantee on this almost new truck and he blew the motor within a month and is now stuck with no money and I'm sure the courts will be very sympathetic to him. NOT. OP needs to run for the hills. Glad he revealed how immature he was BEFORE they moved in and got serious. That budget planning was something a teenager would come up with.

Hello, I am someone in a swinger relationship- going out and getting to know the people you bring into your life is sooooo standard. Also, when you get into this kind of relationship you have to communicate EVERYTHING before, after, during- you have to tell them if you feel jealous, set boundaries, etc. just finding someone and jumping in without talking is horrible. (But also you shouldn't get into the lifestyle if one person is not on board 100%) I hate when I hear stories about people opening the relationship when they don't want to, I've met people in person who are in that type of situation and we don't go forward if that's the vibe (or if they're cheating, we won't be with cheaters either.) Sorry for the mini rant 😅

My thought, too. What loan company/bank/whatever looked at the guy’s income and expenses and decided he’s a good risk for paying off that loan successfully?! They of course know a vehicle loses a lot of its “value” the second the buyer drives it off the dealer lot. The idiot boyfriend should sell the truck and cut his losses.

OP of the first story should double talk her husband into believing that getting a divorce and giving her full custody of the kids is a great idea legally and financially... Legally he wouldn't have to worry about the kids as OP would be able to make all decisions without him (which honestly could cause issues if there was something that required his approval), and if he signs over everything in a divorce, he has nothing and could get a lawyer assigned to him, protecting the assets of the family. THEN reveal to him that she's the one that turned him in, and let him live his new life.

This is the first time he decided to bring you along because he assumed that you would just sit there and watch. Plus he was counting on the other guy to not be attracted to you or you him. Well surprise surprise surprise. He found his wife enjoying being intimately hugged by a younger and firmer man and loving the experience. Now he's trying and succeeding in making you feel guilty because now he knows that you can do better than him and that he's the reason that the bedroom was at death's door. Sucks to be him. I hope that you both are employed and have separate accounts because this isn't going to end well. Good luck.

re: truck story Even though OP's ex has student loans, which would indicate going to college, it would appear that he's not the brightest bulb in the marquee. If his truck loan is 14%, then his credit score is probably fairly low. If what OP is saying about the payments is also correct, then--even after the trade-in (which, probably wasn't much) AND whatever savings he put towards the truck--he's STILL going to make over $140,000 in monthly payments for this truck. OP didn't dodge a financial bullet...I believe she dodged a financial atomic bomb.
