Oh please! Kanha re kanha is definitely not Sohni, it's marwa basically. The songs you choose clearly show you don't have proper knowledge of classical music. Just the note combo in the aaroh avroh doesn't define a raag. A raag is defined by it's chalan, vadi- samvadi, nyas, graha, alankars and definitely aaroh avroh. Marwa and sohni both have the same notes, but the chalan is totally different. Sohni is a madhya and tar saptak pradhan raag while marwa is mainly madhya and mandra saptak pradhan. Use of shadj is very limited in marwa ( though in this song shadj is not that alp,as it's a filmy song), but in sohni, tar shadj is a main resting note. In this song, the chalan of sohni..like G M D N S' r' S', N D N D M G M G r S..is absent, it emphasises more on rishabh dhaivat, which brings marwa shades. Film songs are usually never composed in a pure classical way, so you need a very deep knowledge of classical music to identify raags used in these songs( I am learning for 10 years, in spite of that, I haven't devolped the swar gyan thoroughly).So.. please! Don't mislead innocent people. P.S: it's not important to have a KZread channel to SHOW OFF knowledge...or to tease somebody who tries to correct your mistakes. If it was... hope miyan tansen would also take birth once more to create a new KZread channel to SHOW OFF his creativity.

you will find following raags similar to each other... Shivranjini Pilu Patdeep Revathi Sohini Puriya Dhanashree Kalingada Madhuwanti .... coz all these have komal gandhar or 1 shifted swara(kanasawara) that imitates komal gandhaar. Gandhar is the naturally invented sawarachika from bloating of vrushabha or a goat while giving birth. Gandhaar also insulates the agongy or stress or pain or crawling in pain, all this is only found by an experienced guru who has correct & accurate knowledge of swaras. Today we have teachers boasting false knowledge and making money out of it. Since it's kaliyuga unfortunately precious gurus who have centuries of accumulated information have not been getting adequate financial aid by the government and they die in some remote areas of land from hunger and poverty.
