Great performance of this song.
I noticed another version on YT but the audio is out of sync with the vid so thought I'd upload a new version.

I heard in an interview R.E.M. recorded this song in one take down in New Orleans one night around 2am. Stipe totally blew Peter Buck’s mind as most of the lyrics were being made up on the spot. Sometimes artists and athletes get into the zone and can create magic.

I saw them on tour for the Around the Sun album (not their best album by far) however they took fan votes every night for a song request. Country Feedback beat Losing My Religion by 2 to 1 pretty much around the world, Peter Buck ripped out a guitar solo in the middle of it which surprised me as he is quite tame on the albums when it comes to solos most of the time but he put it in the pocket live and the crowd went nuts at the end of the song. It is one of the best indi songs written in the 90's and it's in my top 5 favorite songs of all time. And that album also has Low, Belong and Half a World Away any band would kill to have written just one of those songs. Out of time had so many songs that could have been singles. For me it's up there with Neil Young's Needle and the Damage Done and Nine Inch Nails - Something I Can Never Have. Having said that Leave of New Adventures in HiFi is amazing as well. Check out the version of this song that Neil Young does with Michael Stipe as his annual benefit concert he rocks the nuts out of it. REM were one of history's most consistently amazing bands, there were two low point albums but they came back strong and finished with a couple of really solid releases. Now I just have to hope Spoon and Radiohead keep releasing albums otherwise it is quite bleak out there.
