A real genius - Sky high talent and down to earth personality - That's RD BURMAN. What a honest person and look at the way he speaks from his heart. Compare that to today's cacophonic singers and composers (if at all you can call them that) who have nothing to show other than their hairstyle and dressing and some of today's singers literally come in bathrobes to judge the music competition.

@@pradeepkumarpanda7626 When Beethoven started out, he followed the classical template laid down by his teacher Joseph Haydn and also a little of Mozart. In a few years he turned the whole world of Western classical music on its head. Creative artists usually evolve like this. When Brahms came out with his 1st Symphony, critics called it Beethoven's 10th Symphony, considering how heavily he was influenced by Beethoven. And Brahms was considered one of the greatest composers of all time. What one must admire is how candid and unpretentious Pancham Da was about his music making.

Rightly observed. Yes, he had a very melodious voice. He distorted his voice may be to sound different, not like others. Actually, according to Sri Majrooh Sultanpuri ji, in his early days, he once commented that he won't copy the style of the conventional greats in music like his father and others. And he proved the world later he was very different from others. So this could be his deliberate attempt to sing and sound different. Anyway, whatever he did, only music was enriched and we got treasures to cherish life long. Happy listening.

Few people who always criticized Pancham that he copied. These songs that he mentioned, he just took a reference of a very small piece of original song and totally remade with complete different tampo. People call it “copied”. Again, these sort of songs are barely less than 0.5% of his thousands of compositions. There will never be another Pancham, so down to earth, so simple. He never ever said that it is “me). He always credited his entire crew. Such nice and beautiful person he was by heart and that is what it always reflected in his composition. There will be another Rehman, there will be another Naushaad, but there will be never another Pancham, Kishorda and lataji

@@KrishnaKumar-kf6zy 1950 to 1975 was known as the golden era of Hindi film music. Shanker Jaikishan were nominated 20 times ( 20 years) for Film Fare Award in this period. Just imagine nominated 20 out of 25 years! You better call golden era as Shanker Jaikishan era. I don't deny R.D 's contribution especially since 1970. R D specialised on light music with thin orchestra, which is pleasant to ears of people in this modern time of noise pollution. But RD didn't introduce Bossa Nova as many wrongly think. It was SJ duo, especially Jaikishan who introduced Bossa Nova beats (Example - Asman se Aya Farista --An Evening in Paris) . But SJ orchestra was too heavy. So few people notice it. 30 to 50 per cents of the songs played in Vividh Bharti are of SJ even today. As for orchestra and rhythm two names come to mind - SJ and Kalyaji Anandji. RD was a man of light modern music. His music is liked by urban educated not in the country side. The music of L P, KA are still fresh in the countryside while SJ is also poular globally.

@@pradeepkumarpanda7626 RD is the only musician remembered for his ultimate background scores other than songs and he did not depend on just a few instruments for that and used several natural elements for the same like for instance for satte pe satta he used Annette's voice to create a captivating tune which introduces the villain and many more such memorable background scores which includes Sholay, Shaan , Shakti, Saagar, Arjun etc. Which music director is known for his background scores ? So that's complete music for you..Less talked about Filmfare awards the better. The deserved dont get it I realized when he did not receive awards for Amar Prem, Aap ki Kasam , Aandhi etc. and when the 1985 award went to the crap music of sharaabi instead saagar. Watch the movie please if you haven't you will know what I mean. I'm sure RD wouldn't have got the award for 1942 love story if had been alive that time ... After teesri manzil SJ themselves proclaimed about RD that 'yeh bachcha hum Sabko khaa jaayega' that's the biggest recognition one could get and being his die hard fans we are proud of his rich and everlasting music...

@@KrishnaKumar-kf6zy Yes, he introduced some sounds. But they meant to give some effect in a way. You can't say they were natural. On the contrary they were far from natural. LP was second to none for example when it came to a natural scenery. SJ were the best in background music as everybody admits, if you talk about music not sound. SJ predicted that LP would supercede them, though they said RD had his own talent. They only patted RD for his attempt of jazz in SJ style in Teesri Manzil. It was no way better than SJ jazz of the time.
