Róbert Péter: AVOBMAT

The aim of AVOBMAT is to provide critical and interactive analysis of bibliographic metadata and texts at scale by offering data-driven and NLP methods, such as topic modelling and named entity recognition, in a number of languages on a user-friendly interface. It fosters critical analysis, for example, by identifying and visualizing missing values and data gaps in the uploaded databases. The lecture introduces and illustrates some of the AVOBMAT analytical tools with the help of a case study concerning the British press coverage of 18th-century Freemasonry.
