I loved Hokkaido when my dad was stationed there in the I U S Air Force. I was born at Johnson Air Force Base . We went back to Wakkanai a few years later and they taught us to speak in Japanese in grade school and my dad's maid would speak to me in Japanese and it helped a lot. I lost a lot of the language and I trying to relearn it and come visit my home.

I've just stumbled upon your channel. It really amazed me how I actually did not need the subtitles for around 85% of the video even though I never really learned Japanese, I just picked up a lot of vocabulary from years of watching Japanese anime, videos about Japanese culture and vtubers. I usually can't understand that much but you are speaking very clearly and using basic/simple language. It really made me happy.

Oh my god... It's the small things like putting the name for the specific farmers who made the fresh produce in the supermarket that I love about Japan. The level of respect and appreciation is something we could all learn from. It really allows me to feel a sense of community or something. I can't put it into words. I want to go back to Japan. It's such a unique place, and it really resonates with me. I'd pack and go tomorrow if I had the chance!

Now I have already added your podcast to my playlist and I believe one day in future I will be telling my friends how I was immersing myself in japanese through listeting to Akane-sensei. This video and your latest podcast that I have now listened to, I felt like even without knowing the verbs or subjects, I kinda understood bits here and there and it gave me a sense of how sentances are formed when talking.
