Sex trafficking has become more and more common, but awareness is also becoming more and more common. Their was a flight attendant who noticed a quiet, disheveled teen sitting next to a well dressed man. In her gut she felt something was wrong, she left a note in the restroom for the girl asking if she needed help. The guy was arrested leaving the plane.

The big-name celebrities don't make a fuss because everywhere they go a fuss is made about them. They are probably just relieved to be treated like normal people/customers for once and get the transaction over with as quietly as possible. As an events photographer who’s met plenty celebrities, I can absolutely confirm that we just aren’t impressed by celebrities being celebrities. There was a UK singer acting like a complete bitch, shouting at staff constantly, and tried to refuse doing her agreed meet and greet that organisers, my friend, had to tell her in no uncertain terms that the meet and greet was a contractual agreement and he would have no problems simply not paying her. The reason she didn’t want to do the meet and greet? She didn’t want to meet her fans because “they’re so annoying”. She was just completely stuck up, constantly shouted at staff, was pretty hostile, demanding and begrudgingly agreed to the meet and greet. Fans were happy to see her but you could tell she was wearing a fake smile. Some celebrities think they’re hot shit, when really they’re just the most pretentious assholes you could ever meet. The nicest I’ve met are TV soap stars, where some have become personal friends, because they don’t think they’re a big deal. They’d rather use what influence they have to help better the world, so that’s what they do, they volunteer where possible, donate large amounts of money from their personal bank, volunteer for fundraisers at the request of local charities, and travel to these events knowing they’ll be the selling point to the charity event and they really wanna help out where they can so the charity can make good money.

It's not as difficult as one would imagine as a regular occurrence, but... arranging one with only hours before a need! The good news is that storing $100,000, even in all $10 or even $5 bills doesn't take up quite as much room as one might imagine. kzread.info/dash/bejne/rIaVzaOueLTNpdI.html Rodeo Dr. retailers aren't exactly *_cash only,_* so this was most certainly a show off move. A local branch not having this kind of cash on hand is slightly questionable, but since the concierge likely told them what it was meant for, the bank manager probably thought it wise to send an armoured car as basic insurance and protection. There is no way I would send someone out to handle that amount of cash, even if they are armed hotel security. Armoured car service means that the guest will have to sign for it. That whole mess was pretty much liability mitigation more than anything else.

@@GeorgeVCohea-dw7ou I don't think the issue was whether the bank had the money. My local branch regional bank easily has around $1 million in the vault at any one time (manager told me in a Chamber of Commerce interview). The problem is whether releasing 10 percent of the cash reserves would violate FDIC regulations. As for space, I once fit $40K from an EXTREMELY GOOD poker night in a Scooby Doo lunch box the house manager had. In $100s, $100K doesn't take that much space. I'd guess the armor car was for half show/half security.

@@clarky23 $100,000 is only 10 straps of $100 bills. Fitting all of this into a family size cereal box, shoebox or lunch box is more than doable. Hollywood has conditioned many people who aren't exposed to larger sums into believing a fantasy, but I also remember a scene with Cheech and Johnny Depp mocking this. Money has been designed to be light and portable. m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/ep2FspehpLLJgMY.html Technology and inflation has made even this feature seem obsolete. I suspect, a bank with many regional branches wants to keep as little cash on hand as possible. $100,000 may not be substantial, but it is all accounted for in it's regular business flow. A bizarre or unusual request like this can be accommodated, but unless, you give a few days notice, it's not necessarily practical for many branches to do it. The head teller may have to place a special order, and those armoured cars aren't cheap.

He’d legit stay in the empty rooms, shower, etc, until he got caught. He did this MULTIPLE times and always got chased out by my stepdad or his guys or someone on staff, but he was super fast and always got away before the cops could arrive…. I worked in a 4.5 star hotel and all it took me was one summer to see some crazy stuff. Once, there was a young couple where the girl seemed to have one of *those* monthly moments, but hers seemed to be messier than usual. We had to throw away a whole bunch of sheets, because they were covered with menstrual fluid. We initially offered a small minibar with snacks and drinks - a bottle of beer, two bottles of water, a Snickers bar, a Red Bull can, a pack of nuts, things like this. But later the minibar was taken out of the options list, for there were too many cases of guests abusing it. They would eat half of the Snickers bar and would leave the rest in such a way that it would look untouched. It kept pissing us off. The creme de la creme was the owners' kid, a 2-year-old toddler boy who was a menace. His mom, the EM, often let him play in the reception and the manager's office which was right next to it. The kid once got close to the main outlet where most of the office devices were connected. He turned off the switch and caused a system failure which was not resolved for a few hours. I protested, but EM was like, "he is bored and likes to play". Once, he came next to me by the reception. I was frustrated but had to remain welcoming to him, because I didn't want to risk getting fired. That kid tried to grab the key to the locker were we kept the money. I tried to say "no", but EM told me to "let him play". He broke it. The drawer was locked and he broke the key, leaving half of it inside the lock. This caused a problem for a few hours. But the worst happened when I was welcoming an entire group of important guests who were supposed to stay for a month and their bill was in the tens of thousands. EM, the manager (they were good friends and were having a chat) and the kid was somehow left unchecked to wander naked from the waist down. As I was busy with checking the guests in, I didn't notice the kid sneak behind my back and, then and there, taking a cr*p at the reception! It was right behind the desk, away from the guests' eyes, but I was mortified. I was able to make as good of the situation as I could. I took the kid to the manager's office and cleaned the mess. EK somehow managed to bite me and I had to take an earful of EM's complaints. Honestly, I loved taking nightly shifts there. But the daily ones were a nightmare, not because of the guests nor the rooms, but because of that little piece of radioactive waste.

@@hanikazuha There’s hotels in the States that have been caught doing that too. There used to be a show called Hotel Impossible that was kind of like Kitchen Nightmares, but for hotels. The host of the show caught people using the same rag for the toilet, then sink, faucet, and glasses a few times. These were far from 5-star hotels, though. I would hope 5-star hotels actually cleaned and sanitized the glasses.

If someone random was crouching down and talking to my child, even a staff member of the place I'm at, I would be incredibly uncomfortable, like what if you're the freak trying to steal MY kid. It’s usually stuff where the bellman crouches down in the elevator to ask the kid if they want to press the buttons, or if the kid is looking at the ground the bellman crouches down to ask if they want to help pull the cart. It just looks like they’re trying to cheer the kid up. Most people that are able to get down on a kid’s level when they’re trying to get their attention, smile at them, or cheer them up. Someone who’s very good at this makes it look natural. And honestly, it looks even more natural for women to do this because people assume women are “nurturing” and “like children”. So the families where a kid is just tired or grumpy just assume she’s trying to cheer up the kid because she likes kids, whereas someone who is trafficking is going to start getting angry and trying to stop them through intimidation. Often very young guys and men with a certain, I don’t know, personality (?) can pull off this natural way of wanting to make the kid happy, though the intention might be read by parents in more of a customer service way. “Oh, he knows if he makes the kids happy the parents will be happier and he’ll get a better tip.”

I do have one to add to this: Many years ago in London I took a brief sojourn into hospitality and took a cash in hand job, over night. I was told about a rather large and well known hotel that need "Security" during a phase of renovations in each 'wing' of the hotel. What in actual fact I was, was an extra pair of eyes looking out for fires and smoke as the entire system was faulty and included in the renovation. This is a hotel that is known for housing minor royals, and politicians of rank from many countries, and I remember seeing a number of them who would have been outraged if they knew. As a small thank you on top of my pay I regularly got tips, and the hotel ended up giving us a large "thank you bonus" and I got to keep the 2 rather nice suits and half dozen shirts they had gotten each of us. (I thought it was nice of them- it took a few weeks for me to realise that it was in fact money to keep me and a dozen or so others quiet.) The bonus itself paid for a 4 week trip to South Africa for friends wedding, and getting laser eye surgery so I could stop wearing contacts as well as 2 nights in another hotel in the chain in Cape Town.

As a previously employed housekeeper, I can confirm that that our job was to make the room LOOK clean. They wanted us to clean a room in 30 minutes max, no matter the state of that room. However, I have morals. I was considered 'slow', because I actually wanted to do a good job and clean the room properly. We didn't have glass cups in our rooms, but even if we did, the glass cup would have been the first thing I cleaned. When going into a room, the first task is to strip the room of used bedding and towels, then to clean the room. The living space first, the bathroom is last. We have to check if the other bed could have possibly been slept in. I often changed the other bed, just to be safe. A room with a jacuzzi gets touched first, as what we do is fill it with water and put a laundry pod in, letting it foam and after letting it run for half the time it takes to clean the bedroom, we drain it. Then clean the bathroom while it drains. I switch rags and spray and wipe the jacuzzi clean. Done. When it comes to horror stories though, I have none. The worst experience, aside from being fired for false accusations, was the motel across the parking lot. There was a couple that I took care of that smelled so bad. Seriously. You could smell their funk in the rooms next door and right below them. They were rude and always demanded more items than we are allowed to give to a single family stay. Eventually the cost went up for living there and they moved out. Thank God. Deep cleaning their room was a nightmare. It took weeks for the room to lose their stench. We had to frebrez the crap out of it almost every day. But the true horror of my hotel and motel experience, was the condition of both buildings. Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't think simply painting over black mold does much. I guess if no one is sick, then it's not a problem? But what about a building that is literally falling apart? Cracks running up the corners of the walls and the ceiling looking like it's separating from the walls. I don't think just filling in the cracks with spackle and painting over them, will change the fact that the building is falling apart. They renovated a few rooms to look super nice and all, but the place is seriously unstable. Just because you made a few rooms look nice, doesn't mean that the cost should go up for the whole place either! That's why we lost our construction people that stayed there. These men come to work hard and want a cheap place to just literally sleep in and rest from working out in the summer heat all day. Some of the rooms are so small, they have to take up the two bed squeezed in there, to put all their stuff so they aren't climbing over it on the floors. They don't want to pay the cost of an actual nice hotel room, when they are in a motel that is older than the hotel! But what do I know? I just cleaned the rooms and eventually got accused for stealing. Which is a whole other story.

When it comes to housekeeping when I stay in hotels, I LOVE it when they arrange my kid’s plushies and favorite blanket on his bed instead of just tossing them on there or just tossing them with our luggage. It’s incredibly minor, but it always makes my kid feel special and makes the room look cared for. Like, if they’ll take that much care of his ratty but beloved blanket and his patched-many-times favorite plushie, it shows they care for the other things in the room.

When I remade the bed, I tried to put the blankets she had on nicely and arranged her pillows and stuffed animals for her. It was fun. The next time we came back they were perched at the end of the bed together curled around the tv remote as if they’d been watching tv without us. It was adorable and my kid just *loved* it. He felt like someone was “babysitting” his toys and checking in on them while we were gone. I assumed most kids brought at least a couple toys with them on holiday, lol. I found it interesting that the one story mentioned dad and daughter types as possible trafficking situations. I think it is just as easy for a trafficker to be a woman with a daughter or son as it can be for a dad to be a possible trafficker. I think the stereotype is that a trafficker tends to be a male with a female child, but that is not always the case. It would actually be easier for a female to come in with the child that’s trafficked because most people won’t look into that as much as if the mail does it. There could also be couples involved in trafficking, so a trafficking situation could just look like a couple coming in with their kids, but really they are being trafficked. Trafficked children can be boys or girls, and trafficking clientele as well as traffickers can be wealthy and look well put together and like they would not be traffickers or clients of traffickers. This is coming from someone who was a victim of trafficking. I was taken to many hotels over the years and trafficked and nobody ever noticed or got caught because the traffickers probably didn’t fit the stereotype or, even worse, the hotel possibly didn’t care. Furthermore, many of the clients were wealthy and had status, so nobody ever questioned them, and when they were questioned, their political/business status or wealth or whatever got them out of it. There are all types of people involved in it because it is big money, so it is not just your stereo typical male creeper.

I've never worked directly for a hotel, but I have worked for an industrial laundry complex that did laundry for hotels. I was part of the department that sorted up incoming laundry. I can tell you exactly where are your missing belongings end up. It's not that the maids steal them. People leave them on the bed somewhere where the maids don't see it and it gets gathered up with the laundry and sent to places like that. We got phone chargers, jewelry, clothing, sometimes phones as well, all sent with the laundry. It also answers the mystery of where tv remotes go. Som hotels attach their remotes to the bedside table so "people wont steal them". I've always wondered why the hell people would steal a remote. Unless you have that exact model of tv at home it would be useless. But they're not stolen. They get swept up with the laundry. Remotes were the most common thing we got, because people watch tv in bed and just throw the remote aside when they're done. My favorite story from that place was when my friend found an old phone. It was unlocked so he tried to find someone to contact to give the phone back. But instead he quickly realized that it was a burner phone belonging to a prostitute. He spent the rest of the day messing with her clients, giving them prices at random and sending them to places all over town. Eventually the phone died. He handed it in with the rest of the stuff we found and pretend the battery was out when we found it.

I’m kind of glad they do. It’s not exactly the same thing, but when I was 19 my dad was helping me move back to Texas from Florida. We were taking turns driving so we could stay on the road as long as possible, but at around 2am, he reached a point where he had to stop and I was already too tired to see straight. So he pulled in to an ordinary little hotel, like a Holiday Inn or something. You could easily see me in the passenger seat from the front desk. When dad got back in the car he seemed irritated, so I asked what happened. Dad said as he was checking in the clerk asked if he wanted one bed or two and my dad raised an eyebrow and gestured towards the car and said “um, my daughter hasn’t been little enough to sleep in the same bed as me in 15 years, man. Of course two beds.” The clerk kind of rolled his eyes and said, “your ‘daughter’. Right. I don’t care what you do with your time. If you want one bed, get one.” My dad asked if the clerk needed my ID as well so he can be sure I’m not underage and that I AM, in fact, his daughter (we had the same surname and when standing side-by-side we look alike). The clerk said he didn’t plan on ruining dad’s “fun night” by asking for ID. 🙄 That was back in the early 00s. It grossed me out and made me angry too. We told the manager in the morning when we checked out, but the manager had that fake concern that’s obviously a put-on just to keep upset customers happy. For all that clerk knew, I was 15 or 16 (I never went IN to the lobby that night) and it was a situation like he thought. That I was dating this guy old enough to be my dad or he had picked me up somewhere or it was a trafficking situation. And he not only was fine with it, but was encouraging it.

I work at the front desk of a hotel, night auditor. A lot of these don't just happen in 5 star hotels. We get stuff like cleaning used drug paraphernalia, entitlement over the pool, rude people throwing things at us, all the time. We even had one lady try to kill her significant other with a car to the room. I can't go into more details than that, for privacy reasons, but MAN, it was a sight to see

8:35 my sister worked at a hotel a couple of years ago and she told us not only they had to wipe the glasses with the same cloths they used for the bathroom, they didn't even get separate cloths for them or anything. if she even had time for it she made sure to get to the glasses before she does anything else or used paper towels.

I know a lot of people working in hotels. Worst case I've heard of was a nasty woman who didn't get out of bed for two weeks, yes living in her own filth on the bed and everything that implies. The smell from the room was eventually what alerted staff to the problem. She was evicted and billed around $3000 for replacement of all furniture and rug replacement because everything had absorbed the smell of rot and decay. Even stripped to the floor it had to be bleached and then aired out. Anyway a hospital stay would cost ten times that or more. With the only upside being the hospital includes room service meals with their daily rates.

One thing about the questions thing; imagine being a dad, stressed out and on vacation with your kid. Divorced a few years ago, things are looking better and you're out to enjoy your time off together with your kid at a fancy hotel. Your flight was a bit long and you really have had hell at work lately and you really want nothing more than get to your room and use that bubble bath and listen to some of your favourite songs whilst your kid enjoys themselves at whatever the hotel has to offer. Suddenly a bellboy comes up and starts talking to your kid, fine sure till he starts getting the kid involved with his work. You don't have time for this, you want to get to your room, you say "alright time to go to our room" and not three minutes later you're being questioned by five security guys with cops on the way. The issue is not that they are looking for sex trafficking victims; that's good. The problem is in their view of sex trafficers. You can clearly read from the way they phrase it that they are looking for girls with men, so many single dads are hurt by people assuming shit just because they are a guy. Stop trying to be a detective and just call in suspicious activity and let the police handle it, instead of going up to every kid with some semi-accurate test with scientifically questionable backing and drawing your own conclusions

As someone who used to be in housekeeping we never cleaned the glass with our bathroom rags. We normally just replaced it or washed it with dishsoap in the sink. And sheets are always switched out, the comforter isn’t unless the room is deep cleaned or it’s dirty. That’s because washing the comforters every time wears them and are washer/dryers out fast and takes a lot of time to dry. And your arms end up dead halfway through the shift because folding so many starts to get heavy and hurt. (I know because at the start of covid that’s what we had to do)

Funny enough, I've watched this video after a pretty bad interaction with a hotel. The Marriott to be precise. We had to travel for 5 hours for a wedding and we staying in a Marriott. The Bride and Groom had trouble with it from the get go. There were tons of "extra" charges added to the wedding parties rooms - one exceeding the cap limit of $1800 on someone's credit card. Two small groups of the wedding party, who's rooms were paid for by the bride and groom (because traveling and being promised a free room at home but that falling through because of other reasons), were being charged AGAIN for the room. As in, the bride and room were charged AND THEN the hotel tried to charge the wedding party members cards for the room too! All the the "extra" charges, financial issues, and messed up grouping of the Wedding Block were blamed on new staff members that "didn't know what they were doing". My husband (a groomsman), myself (Matron of Honor), and our 10 month old son (ring bearer) were placed in a room that was across from the officiant and his two daughters, who were the flower girls. We noticed our room smelled off when we got in, but, regrettably, didn't think much of it and didn't want to interject with a problem that one of the other bridesmaids was already having with the room they were checking into. So we stayed in the room the Saturday night that we arrived. The next day, Sunday, I had a tickle in my throat. I didn't think anything of it because I have bad, bad allergies and I was in a new area. Which meant new plants and the like - so my allergies were gonna act up. So I tried drinking water and just continued to take my allergy medicine like normal. The day after that, Monday, the day of the wedding - I woke up with the tickle more of a stabbing feeling in my throat. I've felt this before, a lot of times it happens after I've slept so hard that I snored and hurt myself lol But the feeling never went away. Instead it got worse as the day progressed. The wedding went off without much of a hitch. It was beautiful. The bride was beautiful. They were both so happy and beaming...but after it all ended and we all went to the hotel I found that I didn't want to go back to the room. And I didn't want my son in there either. My throat had gotten so bad that I could hardly talk. I was dizzy, my head felt like it was heavy and it just wanted to drop without warning. I started to cry because I felt so bad. The sore throat drops we'd gotten did nothing to help. Neither did the Nyquil that the bride got for me to take. It felt like I'd swallowed hot needles and they were stuck in my throat right behind my nasal passages. Nothing I took, nothing I drank got rid of the feeling. My husband was able to get another room thankfully and we slept in it the night before leaving. Turns out the room we were given had mold. There was no way it DIDN'T have mold. I'd taken pictures after someone had come by and mentioned that the room smelled like mold, mildew, and dog piss after we'd all gotten back to the hotel and changed clothes. After they mentioned what they smelled it's what prompted me to take a closer look at everything. And after moving the heavy curtains aside, there was clear unchecked water damage around the AC unit that sat on the floor of the room. I turned on ALL of the lights I could in the room, which wasn't much. The room had a few night lights and two lamps near the bed. The ceilings were really tall, about 15-20 ft with no light fixtures on them. But I tried to zoom in the best I could with my phones camera...and found the mold and bubbled wallpaper on the ceiling (also above the AC unit). Needless to say, that pretty much confirmed that we had slept 2 nights in a room with one of my most deadly allergens. We mentioned before we left the moldy room to a manager. Told her about what we'd seen, what could be smelled, and even mentioned that it wasn't just our noses but 2 other guests could smell it too. My husband ended up going into the room again, but this time with the management lady and someone from the maintenance crew. The manager said she could smell it when she walked in. The maintenance guy gave no sign of being able to smell it, but he did go to look at the water damaged area around the AC unit. I don't know what possessed them to keep a room that was that bad off available to clientele, but I don't exactly expect much out of the hotel that so readily threw their new hires under the bus.

I will forever be terrified of bedbugs. My boyfriends friend and his girlfriend came to stay with us for a few months because they had been living in a motel. After they got enough money saved up for an apartment and moved out, we found out that they had infested OUR APARTMENT with bedbugs they had gotten at the motel! By the time they had left, the room they were staying in was CRAWLING with bugs, but we didn't know because they rarely ever left the room, so the bugs just kinda stayed in there with them and didn't venture around the rest of the apartment until their main food source was gone. Then they came into OUR bed! And all the couple could say was "oops, our bad. That really sucks!" Hands down one of the worst experiences of my life.

I’ve worked in the hotel industry for the past 7 years and I’ve seen some shit. The most recent thing I’ve had happen was when I worked an upscale Marriott. A guy called my front desk to give an anonymous tip that two of my coworkers were currently upstairs dealing AND using crack cocaine and methamphetamine. I had no clue what to do so I asked what floor they were on and not only did he give me the floor he GAVE ME THE ROOM NUMBER. I told my GM and him and our security guard went upstairs for a “noise complaint”. I got a call 5 minutes later to call the cops and I watched both my coworkers leave in handcuffs…

You don't. When I worked security in a nightclub I met a lot of "influencers". They are completely insufferable. We would have to hand those pricks over to the police all the time, because they would refuse to pay for drinks. They were more numerous than the guys who got fight drunk. Never got old when they would say "Do you know who I am?" and I would respond "No clue sir/madame, you still need to pay the tab or we will need to call the police".

She didnt want to give it back so Police were called
