Hope you recover quickly with no lasting effects. My husband and I had it in 2020. I had a milder case similar to yours but he was in hospital icu, long term care and a nursing home for 4 months. But now he's been back to working since the middle of 2021. His energy level is not optimal but we're thankful for the restoration of his health.

Glad to see you're up and about Mr. Pete. You're exactly right. A farmer can't call in sick. One of the worst colds I ever had was one summer years ago when I was raising tobacco. It was right in the middle of harvest season and I had to work through it. The livestock are looking great and the pasture is coming back.

Love your content. My wife worked for an architect office for about 10 years, most of the Architects there were pretty unhappy with their jobs. one guy quit and got a hot dog trailer and sold hotdogs at football games said he was making as much as an intern architect, plus he added that he was so much happier. I love following you daily grind you seem happy even though like you said farmers don't get a day off. I know we had a small farm as well but sold it. Now I'm living in purgatory subdivision. oh yeah! Covid sucks big time. glad your better.

Farmers on a sick day: "I only worked 8 hours today." Get well soon! The only time my Dad stops is if he has a migraine. And only because if he doesn't go to bed, he starts puking and will be sick for a couple days instead of half a day. We've found him sleeping under a tractor a couple times because he hoped he could sleep it off in a couple hours and then get back to work. Once harvest was really late, so he kept going anyway. Mom said she saw him stick his head out the combine door to puke, then he sat down and kept going. The joys of being a farmer!

You’re lucky to get two cuttings from your hay fields! We only get one cutting and we alternate hay fields from year to year. We only get around 14” of precipitation a year. The farms in the valley get lots of cuttings because they irrigate. We have prairie hay and planted crested wheat grass. The rest of our land is for wheat and grazing. We do use range rotation similar to the way you do it. We calve in April and May and keep our heifers close to home and the cows on the home range until calving is over. We feed hay and cake during the winter.
