Hi jake, in case you were wondering, here are some common herbs and plants that can help with IBS pain. Aloe Vera- consuming 1 to 3 ounces of the gel can lessen cramping, abdominal pain, flatulence, and bloating. Use with caution, overuse can cause irritation. Chamomile- relaxes digestive muscles and can treat abdominal pain, indigestion, gastritis and bloating. Although rare, some are allergic. You probably shouldn’t use it if you are allergic to ragweed or other plants in the Asteraceae family. Dill- can create immediate relief. Make sure you are not using dill only, however, as it only masks the symptoms. Peppermint- relieves digestion spasms. Plantain- making tea out of its seeds has a laxative effect.
