Quinte International Airshow 2024 | Airshow Dispatches S07E05
Highlights from the Quinte International Airshow at CFB Trenton, one of the biggest Canadian airshows of the RCAF 100 anniversary year.
Arguably the headliners came from abroad: Italy's Frecce Tricolori and the USAF's Viper Demo Team. But the home team also put on a good show, with the Snowbirds, CC-130, CC-177, CH-146 and CF-188 all taking to the air.
Warbirds on show included the Lancaster, B-25 Mitchell and Firefly from the CWHM and the Spitfire, P-51 Mustang and Hurricane from the Victory Flight. As well as a 6-ship performance, the three Victory Flight fighters joined up in formation with the Hornet.

Awesome stuff, was lucky enough to see the CF-18 and the snowbirds in Barrie a while back unfortunately didn't get to see the special 100th livery in person glad to see it online though looking forward to the next show hopefully then I can catch it...

Brent Handy is actually Snowbird 1 for the 2024/2025 show seasons. The interim Team Lead for the Northern Stars is Greg Hume-Powell.

Fantastic coverage, cannot wait to see that stunning CF-188 at RIAT in a couple of weeks. Just a note; was that an editing error with the commentary at 45:25?

Thanks. A slip of the tongue - couldn't quite get the word out, so I restarted the sentence. Usually I'd take a note of the time and go back to clean it up in the edit, but I forgot.

There will never be an Airshow Dispatches episode from RIAT, partly because I always work on the PlanesTV broadcast and partly because RIAT's terms and conditions of entry don't permit anybody other than the official broadcast partner (currently PlanesTV) to produce that kind of content. I hope you'll join us for the PlanesTV coverage!

Sorry, now that I have listened to you again a few times, when you say "Frecce" (Tricolori) it sounds somewhat like "French". Accent/pronunciation thing, I guess. I stand corrected...😁

How come the snowbirds had to reduce to an 8 ship on one of the show days? Personally I’m not a fan of the snowbirds but I just think it’s interesting that an aircraft of that age is still flying as a military national team!

They finished both days as an 8-ship. Two jets had technical problems per day, of which one each day could either be fixed mid-air or landed and swapped. The latter broken jet on each day could not be replaced in a sufficiently timely manner.
