    I only make it look "easy" because I've been doing this for over 10 years. I've always had a love for paper ever since I was a child. I see my mother-in-law handle fabric the same way I handle paper, but to me fabric feels like an untamed animal. We each have strengths and weaknesses, and as long as you don't let it deter you from enjoying this art, then you will get there. It is precisely because you see where to improve, that you WILL improve! It may be hard for you to believe, but I see soooooooo many improvements I need to make to my own work. Please know we are both on the same path - don't ever give up! It's too much fun! Thank you for taking the time to comment. You keep me inspired to keep going with them! :D Cecelia

    Do you make a certain number of coils ahead of time and if so how do you store the already made coils before you use them on a project? Or... do you make them as you put your project together?

  • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie

    @PaperZenCeceliaLouie

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi Deborah, I make them as I need them for my projects because it’s easier for storage, and because my projects tend to be small. If I were working on a larger project and required many of the same components (mandala, snowflake, decor), then I’d likely make many of them ahead of time so gluing to my final surface can be done in a block of time for efficiency. I hope that helps!

    That's so sweet of you to say Pat - thank you for making my day! 😊 I'm so happy when I hear my tutorials are liked! In this video, I'm using conventional quilling strips, so I think they were about 24" long. For the circular vortex coil, I expanded it into a 5/8 inch or 16 mm circle template, but I just kind of played around with it until I saw what I liked. I find each brand of paper has its own personality, so it's not always a hard rule.

    Hi Foxie World, do you mean your vortex coils are falling off from your background? If so, then I suggest you watch my video about how to glue quilling pieces: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mnuAl7J9itDfpNI.html

    Oh no! Ok how about trying it again but this time don’t wind the coil so tightly? I believe if you lessen the tension, it might help.
