QuietCool AFG SMT Pro-2.0 Smart Attic Fan Install and Setup

Ғылым және технология

The AFG PRO-2.0 is an energy-efficient and inexpensive wonder. This fan moves up to 1,945 CFM while using just 108 watts. Utilizing an energy-efficient motor, a gorgeous design, and American ingenuity, this fan provides numerous benefits at an impressively inexpensive price.
The AFG PRO-2.0 is powered by a two-speed capable, energy-efficient Permanent Split Capacitor Motor, better known as a PSC. This extremely dependable motor allows your fan to use just a fraction of energy. It also has far fewer moving parts than other attic fan motors making it the most durable attic fan on the market today.

It will save you time and effort if you test the fan and pair it to your phone before installing the fan.

Du! I'm bout to do the same thing to my attic. It's gotta be at least 150 degrees up in there. Heard it's supposed to help keep the roof shingle life lasting longer. I just got a brand new roof put on a few months ago too. My A/C constantly runs so I hope this fan will help a little bit and cut down the electricity bill. Thanks for posting this video!

If your AC is running constantly, then this wont really change that, it will help, you will need to seal and vent your attic, add more insulation, and maybe a radiant barrier, that is the route I am doing. I have two of these going in push/pull, adding soffits, sealing, then next year radiant barrier.

I'm in the same boat but not sure how much I'll actually save in electricity. The added cost of running this fan might negate the savings from the few breaks the AC may get.

@@jcberb Radiant barrier is my next plan also. Maybe a winter project. A friend of mine told me to add another gable fan for push pull or pull only. My roof has soffits, 3 gables and the roof is vented on top. So there is plenty of fresh aiir moving in but I don't think it move's enough to compensate for the shingle heat. So back to the radiant barrier idea!

@@chuckwalla2967 My electric company sends me an email everyweek. The week that I installed the fan, my usage dropped 7%. Not much but it seems like the fan may have helped. But it is still really hot up in the attic. I might move the fan to a different location since my roof has 3 gables.

@FishingWithHoang yea fans can't keep up. I put temp sensors in the attic anof noticed while the fans do make a difference, especially at dusk to expel the remaining heat radiating from the roof they cannot keep up with it in the middle of the day that's where proper venting, sealing and insulation come into play. The radiant barrier work's but I read that depending on where you live in the winter it can cause problems for you. I also read that you can lay perforated radiant barrier on insulation and put more insulation over it instead of applying the radiant barrier to the attic cieling. I am still researching the best way forward.
