QuietCool AFG SMT Pro-2.0 Smart Attic Fan Install and Setup
Ғылым және технология
The AFG PRO-2.0 is an energy-efficient and inexpensive wonder. This fan moves up to 1,945 CFM while using just 108 watts. Utilizing an energy-efficient motor, a gorgeous design, and American ingenuity, this fan provides numerous benefits at an impressively inexpensive price.
The AFG PRO-2.0 is powered by a two-speed capable, energy-efficient Permanent Split Capacitor Motor, better known as a PSC. This extremely dependable motor allows your fan to use just a fraction of energy. It also has far fewer moving parts than other attic fan motors making it the most durable attic fan on the market today.

It will save you time and effort if you test the fan and pair it to your phone before installing the fan.
You answered all my questions I couldn't find anywhere else....thanks!
Great Video on how to install the fan for this summer heat! You make it look easy and simple in the video! Thanks for sharing!
Very good instructions!. Thank you sir.🙏
Good job
Du! I'm bout to do the same thing to my attic. It's gotta be at least 150 degrees up in there. Heard it's supposed to help keep the roof shingle life lasting longer. I just got a brand new roof put on a few months ago too. My A/C constantly runs so I hope this fan will help a little bit and cut down the electricity bill. Thanks for posting this video!

If your AC is running constantly, then this wont really change that, it will help, you will need to seal and vent your attic, add more insulation, and maybe a radiant barrier, that is the route I am doing. I have two of these going in push/pull, adding soffits, sealing, then next year radiant barrier.

I'm in the same boat but not sure how much I'll actually save in electricity. The added cost of running this fan might negate the savings from the few breaks the AC may get.

@@jcberb Radiant barrier is my next plan also. Maybe a winter project. A friend of mine told me to add another gable fan for push pull or pull only. My roof has soffits, 3 gables and the roof is vented on top. So there is plenty of fresh aiir moving in but I don't think it move's enough to compensate for the shingle heat. So back to the radiant barrier idea!

@@chuckwalla2967 My electric company sends me an email everyweek. The week that I installed the fan, my usage dropped 7%. Not much but it seems like the fan may have helped. But it is still really hot up in the attic. I might move the fan to a different location since my roof has 3 gables.

@FishingWithHoang yea fans can't keep up. I put temp sensors in the attic anof noticed while the fans do make a difference, especially at dusk to expel the remaining heat radiating from the roof they cannot keep up with it in the middle of the day that's where proper venting, sealing and insulation come into play. The radiant barrier work's but I read that depending on where you live in the winter it can cause problems for you. I also read that you can lay perforated radiant barrier on insulation and put more insulation over it instead of applying the radiant barrier to the attic cieling. I am still researching the best way forward.
I like your video. It's definitely one of the best about installing a gabber fan. I would like to know what type of shutter louver vent you use on tge outside of this fan. I see tgere is a grill to protect the fan against birds.
Great video. What are the dimensions of the mounting flanges? I need to see if I have framing in place to install it before I buy it. Thanks.

The flanges are about 2" X 1.5"
My neighbor told me he has never had to turn on his AC. I had just received a $650 electric bill. Say no more!

Sounds like a whole house fan rather than an attic (gable) fan
Should you have a vent on the other side as well?
@AllTechGadgets
Жыл бұрын
There is another gable vent on the opposite side of the attic. I am testing with fan first. If I need another fan I will install one on the other side
Can you set the fan controller up for automatic without using the bluetooth? My controller will be buried in the attic with no access, so I can't press the pair button.
@AllTechGadgets

Once you pair the Bluetooth the first time, you dont have to pair it again unless you remove the fan from your device or switch to a new device then you have to pair it to the new device.

You have to use the app to set up the fan.

Maybe find one that you can wire up a wall control in the house so you can control the fan from a wall conrltrol or wire it up to your HAC thermostate.
Is there no duct pulling air through the house?

Thanks, good explanation. How did it end up working out for you? How much cooler were you able to get? Is this a worthwhile venture if my attic walls and ceiling is not insulated? Do you run it 24/7 during the summer?

How do we install the outlet?

Look for a power line that runs from your electrical panel 20A circuit that is in the attic and tap to that line.
Is it possible to use the app over Wi-Fi?

No , because it is only Bluetooth

This one, you need the app to control the fan and to set the thermostate.
Where is your make up air is motor a ball bearing or bushing.Bushing wont last in attic heat will cook the oil out of bearing.
Installed one of these... light bill went up$80.... wasted money.... bought 2... only use them for small projects now

@@lvn4jc625 @lvn4jc625 bought 2 of these. Highly doubt both are malfunctioning. Moves allot of air so highly doubt they're low power draw. Maybe others have a different experience. That's my experience with them.

BS. What was your bill before? You’re saying $80 MORE per month just using this fan? That quite literally impossible based on BASIC MATH. Just stop lying.
Why install an outlet…can’t you just use an extension cord????

If you are ready, have an outlet somewhere in the attic, then use an extension cord.
