Review of the Quick Jack BL-5000SLX and compared to the differences between the Kwik Lift KL2500 mobile car ramp lift.
In this video I demonstrate settings up the Quick jack and lifting this Lexus rx300. Before I bought this one I did some research on the differences between the quickjack and the Kwik lift. These are very similar in design with the main differences being the Kwiklift has additional wheels on the bottom which aids manoeuvring under the car. The other big difference is the hydraulic ram, the quick jack has compressed air which helps lower the lift when no weight is on it whereas the Kwik lift has an internal spring. The Kwik lift has a higher lifting capacity of 2500kg. Size wise, there’s very slight differences but what I do like about the quick jack is it’s slightly lower with the small blocks which helps on lower cars. The quick jack also comes with two sets of blocks, a small and a large.
Generally the quick jack is more expensive than the Kwik lift by about £100 but I managed to to get the quick jack from Costco for just over £800 which was a great price inc delivery. The guys over at Kwik lift weren’t really interested in giving me a discount so quick jack it was.
These are a fantastic buy and so much easier to use than a trolley jack and axle stands, I can get these into the boot of a car, if it’s a smaller car you’ll need to put the passenger seat forward. They’re not to heavy so easy enough to lift into the boot.
Quick Jack BL-5000SLX
Meet your new best friend in the garage and at the track. The 5,000-lb. capacity BL-5000SLX car lift is the ultimate tool for DIY’ers and race enthusiasts. It covers most vehicle types and takes up very little space. This lift is extremely versatile and surprisingly lightweight (it’s also our most popular model). Fits Porsche, Corvette, Mustang and more!
Automatic safety locks
Features dual-position automatic safety locks. As the frames rise, these locks glide securely into place. Disengage with a simple flip of the lock bar and your car lift is ready for a smooth descent.
Reduced overall length
We shaved off 3” end-to-end. This makes QuickJack easier to stow in tight spaces and more able to service vehicles with narrow wheelbases. The maximum lift point reach is unaffected by the change.
Improved lift point access
By extending each rubber block tray an inch toward the center of the frame, the minimum lift point reach is now 2” less than it was before. This allows our portable car lift to accommodate smaller vehicles, like Porches, with ease.
One-handed operation
By holding the pendant control in one hand, your other hand is totally free. No cranking or bending during “liftoff.”

Love the video and greatly appreciate the comparison and referencing. We are UK based and hold great stock at present. We offer the Kwik Lift cheaper than our competitors as standard and would love to be able to give more money off - we have tried to hold our prices for over 2 years but it is proving tricky! We stock all spares and accessories which can be delivered next day and pride ourselves on being experts in the garage equipment industry. I'm sorry we weren't able to help you more on this occasion but really do hope to hear from you again in the future!

The difference between the house mains and the 12v DC system can be heard when the lift makes contact with the car and begins to bear the weight.

Yes you need to make sure your battery is good, if you can and it’s safe to do so, I run the engine to ensure there’s enough power.

I've looked into these several times in recent years and it is not a time saver at all. I have two HD jacks, one for each side of my garage, and four 12-ton jackstands (for their size and height, not for the weight capacity). and when I'm done there's room to maneuver in and out of the sides of the car as well as the front and rear. so I looked at the possibility of using a quick Jack just to get the car up (in order to place the stands) and it's in the way of the jacking points so overall it's more of a nuisance than a help. I think where it would be really useful is with the controls at the garage wall and the quickjacks pushed together so that you drive up over them and then slide them out in between the wheels now that I could get behind that's definitely doable for quick jobs like tires and oil change but for any real mechanical work they're just in the way...

Hey, thanks for the comments, yes for some real big jobs they can get in the way and can cover some of the areas on the underside. They are handy in my garage at home as it’s really narrow, it’s a pain getting a trolley jack down the side to jack a car up.

@@Aeneas137 congrats on the Cayman, great cars. You won’t regret the lifts, they make it so much easier, let me know how you get on. I found Costco was the cheapest

I have frame rails and it takes me about 20 minutes to get the quick jack positioned properly. I have the slotted blocks too. Any suggestions?
