Find a niche opening and learn it thoroughly. Hopefully your opponent will make a mistake and you can take advantage of it :P

When playing this game it's always good to create 2 pathways just in case your opponent block you and you can go the other way and win. It's not easy I play against the CPU so I like to be challenged.

It should be noted that while this game is completely solved by computer analysis, the computer could not detect much in the way of strategy to guaranty a win. There are suggestions, certainly, but nothing to guaranty a win for one side or the other unless you have access to the database of every possible game.

NoName Was that based on the recent solving of Connect 4? Last I heard on the state of it (and I haven't read that paper) there were tactics and strategies that are helpful, but no optimum winning strategy like you see in games like Nim and Tic Tac Toe. Rather it is more like chess, except with a small enough space of possible moves that current computers can now check them all to find he best option.

@@EveryDaysClips Yeah. I just tried this online and I lose because I try it. I focus on pulling it off so the other dude just farms me. Connect 4 is seriously the dumbest game to try to get good at yet there are people out here who grind connect 4. I don't understand.

How to beat that strategy is not through keep playing the center collumn. It is keeping to the same strategy until the opponent has two in a row: then you dont block, but keep building your own row

what if when you do the fake diagonal connect 4 he blocks on the very right lane

If this happens, I would recommend holding off on putting any pieces on the right side. Hopefully the opponent will drop a piece one over from the very right lane giving you the 7 formation. If he doesn't do this and continues to play the very right lane, just make sure to drop one of your pieces in that lane so that you are one away from four in a row three rows up and one column over from the right. If the opponent doesn't play the right side at all, just play smart and try not to give him any opportunities on the left side/middle. You will eventually win on the right side. Hopefully this makes sense! It's kind of hard to type out an explanation, let me know if you have any other questions. :)

When u are playing and they go side,diagnose or upwards wait for them to get their 3 in a row so you don’t waste turns

if the Board reads 1 - 7 Left to Right 1:10 ... if Yellow goes first: 4, 3, 4, 4, 5, 4, 5, 6 or 7, 5, 5 is game. 1:53 the correct move is Slot 5. 2:44 Slot 7 is the correct move.

I like to call them traps because you don't want to fall into them.

it works but with some people they dont start with putting theyre coin over mine in the center and i basically lose

just put your coin over their coin, then they will play center and just continue with that (assuming they put it next to the center)

best tactic what I've noticed is to always put coins on the second bottom row when possible, eventually few columns will be completely empty. usually no matter what opponent does in the end you'll usually get 4 in a row in the second row by forcing the opponent to put one coin in to the bottom row
