Hello and how are? I have a question for you but first I would like to give you some background. My father's name is Robert C Smith age 83 from GA. Yet his grandfather was from Virginia and his name was Peter Jefferson he owned a farm in 1867, paid taxes and etc.. I later found that Thomas Jefferson father's name was the same and was from Virginia as well. Now my question is how was it that a black man at that time do all that... I found that information on ancestry.com I stopped looking because it started to feel a bit odd. If you have answers or questions that would be great.
