We're renderers/roughcasters to trade and occasionally do pointing. Similar to getting gear off the hawk, if you've never done it before you're going to drop it all.

Great video for those who need to master the basics. It looks so simple but can be tricky to get right with different mortars and if your mix is not the perfect consistency 👍

@@GMTpointingspecialistsltd I’m in the property maintenance game myself. Do a contract for social housing near me for the past 14 years. I mainly do kitchens bathrooms and plumbing carpentry side. Always like to keep in touch with other trades. Can’t say I’m a brick layer by any means but I can sure make a decent job of pointing if I need to. Got bits to do on my own home so always look out for videos on lime mortar pointing just to check my method of thinking etc 👍

love all of your videos 🎉❤. I did a brick replacement the other day. Any suggestions when only the face comes off but plenty of brick left ? I have seen old fixes where mortar + small stones are used to create a face for the brick.

Kudos to you Sir. Thank you for sharing your skills and craft. How do you decide if your going to use a hot lime or a NhL lime on a property? Thanks. Rob

If its a protected area or really soft bricks I will use a hot mixed lime but I don't use it hot Or I will use a nhl 3.5 or nhl 2 lafarge or Saint astier All depends on the weather conditions where you live as well
