QUICK Norfolk International Airport Tour 🎖 What to Expect at ORF🎖

For an International Airport, ORF is teeny tiny, so absolutely DO NOT stress about getting to the airport super early or anything like that. Once you get through security into your concourse you are just a few strides to your gate! If you are landing here for a layover, chances are your gate will be in the same concourse.
While you are landing you may see some military aircraft as you are coming in. On your way driving into the airport, you will probably see a lot of military aircraft in the sky as well since there is a base right near the airport.
I LOVE how much our veterans and active military are represented at this airport!!!!!!!
LOCATION
If you are planning a trip to Virginia Beach, this is where you should fly into. It's conveniently located just 20 minutes away from the beach.
Check In Process...
Very smooth. There was barely anyone there when I checked in. The check in area was pretty big so I don't see it taking too long for the check in process.
Security...
It's a breeze, very quick and easy.
Food Highlights...
They have a few Starbucks!
Most of the good food was in the center area before you go into your concourse.
In concourse A, there's a Budweiser Bar which looked yum.
Shopping...
There's not much shopping here besides Hudson news stands kind of spots.
General Feel...
Norfolk International Airport is on the smaller side. It's home to active military so you will see a lot of men in uniform. Make sure you take a moment to thank them for their service!
Restrooms...
There's plenty of restrooms and the stalls have a lot of room to bring your bags in with you.

Each concourse has its own security check point by TSA not the gates. The passenger departure terminal was built in the early 1970s and the baggage claim was in the area now occupied by Southwest, Delta and Spirit. The nearest Air Force base is in Hampton, Norfolk Naval Base is closer to the airport.

the baggage claim area is bigger than the terminal. Im not sure Id call it "teeny tiny" as there are 2 concourses and a 3rd planned I hear. if you want to talk about a small "International" airport, visit Daytona Beach Int'l airport. There are 3 airlines served as of October 2023; Delta, AA, and Avelo JUST started. There are like 6 gates.

I know that I’m a bit late, but you haven’t seen a small airport until you’ve seen Salisbury airport in Maryland. I thinks there’s 1, maybe 2 gates.
