Quick Look at My New Transition Spur All Country Bike

I finally bought a Transition Spur! It’s been on my radar for a while now but we haven’t been a Transition dealer for very long so I was leaning towards this or the Smuggler but decided to go the lighter/shorter travel bike since I think it will be great for the Houston area. Not sure if I’d take it to any bike parks but at the same time, I’m old and not necessarily doing anything crazy anymore. My body can’t handle it! #bikingroots, #transitionbikes, #transitionspur
The Spur has been around for about 4 years now as it kind of defined the Downcountry or All country category when it was released. It is perfect for those that still want the weight savings but also may break a lightweight XC race bike. When I had my Cannondale Scalpel it was super light but I also broke it and was afraid to push it hard. I feel like the Spur is a bike I can push more without fear of it snapping. In this stock NX build it tips the scales at just under 30lbs in medium setup tubeless. I do however have some plans for this bike so it won’t stay stock for very long!

Who owns a Transition Spur? If so, how long have you had it and how has it been? If not, who’s interested in one?! Looking forward to some fun adventures on mine
I love how this bike looks. Very clean design and I love bikes where the top tube continues to the back in a straight line.

thanks for the comment! Yeah, agreed, it is a looker and yes it does give it a nice clean look when the top tube transitions nicely to the seat tube. I’ve had some kind of goofy looking bikes over the years so it’s nice to have something clean and more simple! Take care
I have this exact bike. I really like it. Accelerates super fast. I Upgraded the entire drive train to X01 and the wheels. Wish it had UDH but for the sale price it’s hard to pass up.

Thanks for sharing! Awesome you have it. Yes, I noticed on my first 2 rides now that it does accelerate much more quickly than my previous bikes. Good call on the x01. In the next video I'll show what I upgraded. Yeah, UDH would be nice, but yeah couldn't justify the expense just to go UDH. AXS GX works well for me
Pretty nice, I'd be too eager to ride it, screw the video 😂 I had a streak of freeride and DH full suspension bikes in the last decades, but now some short travel trailbikes are so capable the line is getting blurry, even XC is at it 😂

Ha! I know right, yes finally I've been on a couple rides with it after my upgrades and it is way fun... video coming soon on that. Yes, even short travel bikes can do a lot more than the old freeride and DH bikes of old! These days bikes are pretty incredible compared to what I started out on. Have fun on the trails

@BikingRoots im old school xc. Into light and fast. I just built an nos 2017 Sworks Epic frame up. 25.2 lbs. with pedals! Really happy with it.

Unfortunately I just have my medium in shop at the moment. How tall are you? You are welcome to try it out even though too small. JBP! Haven’t been there in so long. Need to get out there again soon

@@LCNismo agreed! Hopefully trails will dry out this week. If you decide to come look at my Spur, just let me know (at least to see the fit and finish since it is too small for you).

I guess they preferred that term over “down country” basically meaning it works everywhere. Isn’t cross country or trail
