Thanks for the simple explanation. This saved me a trip to the service center. Bought the cell and installed. Did not get the Panasonic - bought a Maxwell or something. Will last till it lasts. Bought two (changed both key fobs) for 60/- from the local hardware shop. Guys - please do not buy online(unless you want something specific enough that you cant get locally). Walk up to the nearest shop and save some moolah.

I bought my Tucson on Feb 2019, and the batteries for both the Fobs just went dead, so this video helped me a lot, thanks so much!

Hey i just checked it online. It works. The key has inbuilt RFID. All you have to do is to press the push start button with key. It worked in my case. I hope it will work for you as well.

Works better if you gently use the tip of a butter knife, to pry it open (don't insert the knife too much, maybe 1-2mm). Otherwise using just fingers it may be impossible to split it open.

For all those commenting on cheaper batteries. They do not last. I've experience with Maxwell and another local market one. Didn't last a month. Even Panasonic duplicates do not last. I had bought original Panasonic from a key maker. They make keyless ones too. He sold me a panasonic for ~200₹ I argued on price. He said it's original and guaranteed money back if it fails in 3 months. That battery is going strong. A little more than a year now

Thanks for posting video it was very helpful. I was worried I had to go to the dealer. After changing the batteries, I find that when pressing the button, a small red light in the corner of the key fob glows, although I can open and lock the doors, does this mean cell is weak??

That normal operating procedure of the key fob. Red light indicates that the fob has transmitted the command. It does NOT refer to a weak battery.

When your car starts to miss lock/unlock command when you press the button, means you should now change the batteries. If its been 3 years and 4 months, I'd recommend doing a battery change now.

that's odd, battery easily last for 2-3 years. You may however replace them with amzn.eu/d/humX4hM - But if the they again die in a few months then it would mean there is something wrong with the key circuit.

Yeah same. The Hyundai service center idiots in Pune - Kothari Hyundai were asking for 700 Rs 🙄 I rejected it. You get pack of 5 for 150 and you can change it easily. First time after changing the battery one or two presses of button take some time but then the key behaves normally every single time from a decent range. Make sure you get the original battery of Panasonic or Nippo and keep spare one or two in car.

Dude company charged me 605 for two keys 🤦‍♂️
