I've told my dh that whenever stress becomes almost too much... the best medicine for whatever it is that is spreading tension. My dh and I have been married almost 56 yrs.we disagree on many things, however, the hugs are absolutely the best way to help us remember just why we fell in love! He's very brave! What a sweet moment..Someone with a spinal cord injury standing can be very scary. The feeling of blacking out is terrible, you can actually feel your eyes rolling back and passing out. It's happened to me..I hope he has many more happy moments!

I pray you get better. I didn't realize that was common. My brother was a quadriplegic and he didn't like sitting up. My mother and aunt used to wash him up every day and sit him up, because they said that was good for him. He would not let his wife or anyone else sit him up. Since, he laid down all the time, when he had to get up, it caused his pressure to rise. I thank God for seeing through for 35 years! He was positive and always encouraged the rest of us. God gave him so much strength. I miss him, but I am happy that he is out of constant pain.

When my husband had his first stroke ; we went to a restaurant , and when it came time for him to go to the bathroom , I accompanied him and I stood behind making sure that he would not lose his balance while he did his business ... I thanked GOD for the opportunity to love him even more!! He passed on 2023 , I miss him every second of the day , but unable to speak , he wrote down “LOVE is Stronger than Death “❤

I'm a widow /grandma...who was married to a veteran soldier! We were a 48 years married couple! He passed away, almost 7 years ago! And...I'm still grieving for his lost!! I do bless this young couple!

Mine too. He was very sick from Agent Orange which attacked him in 2000. I was able to be with him and give him all he needed until the end April 4, 2009 he could not drink or eat either he had a tube. His favorite foof was my cuban cooking. We married (eloped) to Juarez Mex. Sept 5 1964 My cuban catholic family and friends said it would not last. He was brought up Southern Baptist and cpuntry Texan. God had other ideas for us. Now I have 3 great grand children in Fl. I am 77.

I lost my husband to an overdose of pain medicine, he had quadriplegia,, no need to say how much this destroyed me. Can you tell me, why does he faint? I know people ask you a million questions like WHY & HOW & couldn’t you be HAPPIER- and I know the answer is simply LOVE. God bless you and yours, always.❤

And completely exhausting when you can't see a good end to it. I wish these young people lots of strength, physical and mental, and help, to be able to cope.
