Wow!
love this guy, straight and to the point. my boxing coach would say, practicing the punch the right way helps develop your muscle memory to do it the right way. so, it becomes second nature like walking. u don't think about walking because of muscle memory. thats why we practice, so we can fight like walking. u talk to anyone that does a sport about being in the zone, there is no thinking, that's muscle memory. being in a zoned-in state of mind is the most free and natural a human can be.
Great video as always!. One mistake you've mentioned in other videos but not here - and I mention it because I catch myself doing it way too often! - is "switching off" the feet after a combo on the heavy bag or mitts. By "switching off" I mean you step into range, throw a combo, and then...when you step out, in your head you are relaxed and in the gym and not still facing an opponent. You step back and bring your feet together (instead of back foot always first), or cross your legs when stepping around, or (what I catch myself doing) bringing my left (back) foot behind or nearly behind my right (front) foot rather than staying in a defensive stance. I'm getting back into sparring, and I watch my mates in the gym bringing these bad habits from the heavy bag or mitts with them into the ring during sparring. I'm working hard to get rid of my own bad habits to not do the same!
I love these videos. I've been studying martial arts all my life. I can throw very powerful fast kicks. But honestly I'm ashamed to say my hands are nowhere near that level. So watching Jeffrey do his thing has honestly improved my boxing game on the heavy bag quite a bit. Nice one mate
Thank you sir, for your free expect advice, It is massively appreciated
I do at least three of them. Thank you for your lessons. Very much appreciated! 👍👊
Your channel is the mine for the best boxing tutorials, everything is so very valuable. Thank you right now I am taking this tips and doing it really really slow
Thank you for the bonus tip i almost forgot about that i record myself during deadlifts but forget to do so while boxing coz I haven't boxed in a year or so truly appreciate it man!
Great video! I started boxing two years ago. I love this sport so much!!! Thank you for this super helpful video! Hugs from Argentina! 🇦🇷
This is so useful! Thanks coach 🙏🏻
This was great, I've been working on trying to breathe when punching, not pawing when punching, & loosening up / not staying too tight
Another great video Tony. Thank you.
I've learned a lot from your videos. Thanks, Tony!
thank you soo much for all this good information i'm definitely going to practice my arms coming back to my face for defense after throwing my punches :D hopefully will see progress in my next videos
The bonus tip is definitely the best tip ! Keep up the good work tony! 🥊💪🏻
Thank you for this.
Everytime I watch your videos I feel so inadequate. But I do learn from you. I have done 15yrs of different martial arts training. I am 50years old now, and I think boxing is the best to know. I now have a personal boxing trainer and have learned so much in a short time. Boxing is best, and most realistic. Thanks so much !!!😎😁
Thanks Tony!!! Great video!!!✊👍
Thank you Mr. Jeffries for another fantastic video.

Congratulations bro for 1m sub ❤️ Lots of love from 🇳🇵
Great advice mate If people won`t listen to you they won`t listen to anybody you`re the expert. I did boxing training at a gym the fellow still had a licence from the Boxing Board of Control his name is Bobby Unwin although it was a fitness class he was adamant about being in stance, chin down, guard up moving your head no 1 wrapping your hands up properly before you start I see people at the gym hitting the bag full pelt and their wrists are going all over the place.

Tony, great video. Here across the Pond, I am looking at 2 gloves for Heavy Bag work only. Would you recommend I go with the Hayabusa T3, or, with the Title Gel World glove? I would appreciate your advice. Thanks mate.
I noticed on the #1 demonstration when you said "no defense" I thought it was going to be dropping the right hand on the way to and from the punch,(bow and arrow effect) which you are right it is no defense in that. And you did cover dropping the non punching hand. But I did notice the right dropping before and after the right hand is thrown. Watch it again. I'm just a amateur boxer and I'm not on your experience level so by no means am I correcting you. And you were just demonstrating , I'm sure you don't do that in training or fighting. But you were a pro and pros do break rules on purpose anyway. I learn a grip of stuff from you and I love your channel and the content you put out. Thank you and God bless bro

Flick punch 😂. Great video coach 👍
Can you do a video on a good warm up for boxing?
Another one I see a lot is people leaning all their weight into the bag so the only thing holding them up is their punching. If you suddenly removed the bag they'd fall on their face. Great list Tony.
Tony I punch the wall with boxing gloves on is that good for building stronger punches lad all advice appreciated nice Tony 🤟🤟🤟🤟
My Coach :)
Hi Tony Despite all the vids you've done on street fights, you have never told us about any stories about being on the doors. Could you do a vid on any stories you have, and a lowdown of your experience on the doors? Thanks
Tony , I need your professional opinion. I like to use the heavy bag as an aerobic exercise. Three , three minute rounds, thirty second rest in-between rounds. The first two minutes focus on good form and posture hitting the bag at fifty percent of force. The last minute hit the bag as hard as I can, still keeping good form. I practice a three or four punch combination, Jab, straight right, hook to the body , upper cut. After three rounds , without cheating myself, I'm gassed.
Any advice for fat hands and wraps? I get a workout squeezing a wrapped fist into a glove, maybe a supplier I don't know of?
what heavy bag do you use? how do you chain it up? i break the Caribbeners/chains on heavybags every gym i go to. i want to set something up that is sustainable. one gym i went to probably the largest i ever seen for many styles; has these huge ground bags with metal poles in the middle. but i never seen where to buy them an they probably require a construction crew to install
any viable alternatives to traditional hand wraps?
Mr.tony we need virtual padwork videos 💔 we really need that and i think you are the best for that 😓
I see on your videos with double end bag cabels. Please drop link i want to buy cabels for double end bag like you

I regards to not wrapping the hands I had the same dumb idea with bodybuilding/powerlifting. Didnt wear belts deadlifting and fucked up my back to the point where I couldnt even do squats for nearly a year. I wanted to be the tough guy. But now I wear belts, lift lighter, and im looking for good knee wraps, wrist wraps, and my dad also has Mark Bells Slingshot for bench pressing.

Parry then counter punching
So when SHOULD I practice unrealistic combinations?
I'm curious about the flicking punches. I've recently tried to incorporate some bits of footwork meant to only confuse, and I found out that flicking punches work well from some angles, specifically jabs (this is just my opinion as I'm experimenting). Do you think I should use that for setting up only, or would it be a valid way to attack once in a while as a surprise? Also thank you for the video!
@KelpWolf
2 жыл бұрын
He's not saying you shouldn't make quick, light punches. Just that when your fist connects, your wrist should be straight, and you should be hitting with your knuckles
I would say not wrapping my hands and poor defence/head movement after throwing punches is what I need to work on. I tend to just step or bounce away from the bag and dont move my head.

@@Tony_Jeffries yeah, prior to throwing a punch or a combo im quite good with head movement and feingting. But i find it hard to finish or step away defensively without it feeling unnatural or putting me off balance. Does that mske sense?

Can you explain why the chin is such a bullseye for knockouts, what's happening to your brain when hit there?
lmao feel attacked from the get-go with #12
I swear not using wraps would condition your hands to be stronger. But maybe it just works when you are younger and still growing cause my hand strength is much weaker now
Sometimes I bite my my punch/kick bag for authenticity.
Tony is the flicker jab something you shouldn't practice on the heavy bag and only in shadow boxing then? I use it all the time to disorient during sparring but I do mix it into my jabs on the heavy bag as well, is that wrong?

@@Tony_Jeffries I've found that it makes a good distraction on the guard as well as the whipping of it can actually generate some good power without having to put much energy into it. It also can be used while circling, kinda how Ali did it, to keep the opponent's guard high which sets up a range of options.
How to punch somebody that's bigger than you fast in checkdown
