Another place I get accidental yarn overs is when I magic loop small circumference and as I’m switching from one needle to the other I accidentally yarn over and add a stitch. I’ve learned to check my stitch count frequently to avoid adding that stitch.

Thank you, Tonia, for this video! I’ve only been knitting since February so I’ve made all these mistakes. The result has made me learn to pay more attention and establish better knitting habits. This entire video is a keeper! Thank you for sharing your expertise and for letting me know that this is just part of the process of knitting.

Great tutorial - thanks!!! Just started knitting again last summer after 35 years and kept ripping out my work to fix mistakes. This is going to be soooo much easier ;)

Thanks!! I think what I'm doing is the incomplete stitch. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what I was doing so I had no idea how to fix it. I'll have to test this out. Thanks again. It really helps me to know what happened so I know how to fix it. I also have an issue with holes or twists in my edges. Thanks again.

PAY ATTENTION--great advice. I have done most of these. I get going so fast, I don't realize I have an incomplete stitch. Great demo of laddering back up

Thx for the tips, I do most of these regularly and end up ripping it out. I recently discovered something called A Life Line, and I will be using this if I ever make a sweater cause I'm sure I will make mistakes. Also I would love to know if you have a video on how to put a stitch back on your needle the right way, I seem to be able to do purl stitches fine but don't do the knit stitch right. I am a visual learner, and if I see something done, I get it quicker than reading about it. Thx again. I'm really enjoying your channel 😊

Great video. I love the neckline of the knitted sweater you are wearing in the video - would you share the pattern please? Also, how would you go about fixing holes after you've either gone too far to ladder back to the problem and/or if you don't discover it until you've bound off the piece. Thank you!

Here's the pattern: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/buttercup-6 For holes you can't drop and fix you could try to cover them up by using duplicate stitch.

@@NerdyKnitting thank you.. I love that tee. And I was wondering if duplicate stitch would work. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

I had a hole in my knitting that I tried to ladder down to it, was like 4-5 rows down, and when I got to the hole the yarn wasn't straight across like a ladder, it was a loop that didn't connect to the stitches on the other side of the hole. I frogged it and am reworking it but what did I do to make that? And would I have been able to fix the hole without frogging? It doesn't look like any of the other holes I see in all the videos, the stitch that had the loop coming out of it was very tight and maybe a little twisted? I'm not sure

It's hard to say without seeing it for myself but it could have been a yarn over or accidental short row.

Im having an issue i noticed a mistake in my sticli ete stitch so i took of the rows by working backwards and im on the knit stitch section taking the row out and one of them doesn’t have the working yarn part around it it skips that one and goes onto the next. I’m not sure what to do as this it obvious when knitting

It sounds like you slipped that stitch from the left needle to the right needle without actually knitting it (it happens!) - so the yarn gets carried behind the stitch. If you are working backwards and taking the stitches out, just keep going until you get to that stitch and slip it back to your left needle. Then you're ready to knit it. Or, if you're just a row above it (and it's only the next stitch down) you can treat it like a dropped stitch. With that stitch on the left needle, use the other needle tip to pick up the running bar from back to front and place it beside the stitch on the left needle. Pull the stitch up and over this running bar to complete the stitch. Then you can just keep knitting.
