Quick and Simple Flower Earrings in Polymer Clay
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
These earrings are fun and easy to make, and I show you how, step by step. So, sit back, relax, and watch the process unfold. Then have some fun and make your own.

The wire is 0.8mm (20 gauge) silver plated jewellery wire - you need 2 pieces about 4-5 inches (10 - 12.5cm). I use jewellery wire cutters and round nosed pliers.
The fishhook earing findings are widely available from bead shops and online retailers.
I used FIMO Soft Polymer Clay. 1/16 oz (3.5g) of White/Lilac and White/Plum with half that amount of Mint for the added detail. All well known brands of polymer clay will work well for this project.
The second pair use Aqua/White, Emerald Green/White and Lilac. The third pair use Brilliant Blue/White, Raspberry/White and Apple Green. The fourth pair use Peppermint/White/Brilliant Blue, Raspberry/White/Plum, and Apple Green.
Other equipment you need is:
A polymer Clay Blade
Craft Knife
Small roller
4mm Cable Needle - or something similar
Something thin to bend the wire around - I used a masked blade - do not use an unmasked one! A cutlery handle could work, a round cutter, a ruler, an old unwanted credit card or something similar.
2 inch (5cm) round cutter - or something similar, to bend the wire around.
Small heart cutter or ¼ inch (0.5mm) round cutter.
2 earring findings
Tile to work/bake on and a small square of card
Aluminium foil to cover the clay while it bakes.
Pasta machine dedicated to polymer clay use.
If you do not have a pasta machine you can roll the sheet of clay between two even stacks of playing cards. Setting 9 on my machine is 1 playing card thickness, setting 7 is 2 cards and setting 4 is 4 cards thickness.
The small round cutters can either be bought in a set specifically used for polymer clay from many shops on Etsy, (I originally got mine from MyMandarinDucky on Etsy - www.etsy.com/uk/listing/21137... ) but I have also bought them direct off eBay, where you can search under ‘Cord Pin End Crimp Terminal Wire Copper Connectors’, to find similar cutters, but you will get a huge amount all the same sizes.
The PAC-PEN is available here - www.agneshorvath.co.uk/pac-pen
Thank you so much for watching.

You're the first one who made me start and love the crafting with polymerclay I learn a lot from you Please I have two questions What kind of clay should I use to make perfect canes and give me nice clean cut?? The second If I covered the clay with resin ,how to prevent the clay from absorping the resin and give me nice shiny leveled surface???
@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals
Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much - all the well known brands of clay cane well, I have done a vdie - contrast and compare, where I do the same design in 6 types, so that may be of some help? ( - kzread.info/dash/bejne/fpWJuMhtndHKZKQ.html - ) They all have slightly different properties, and people like to keep to the brand that they are used to generally, and that depends on what is available to you nearby and cost effective. As you know I like Fimo Soft as it cuts through cleanly, and there is less drag than some others, but of course Kato is the ultimate for complex cane, with little distortion, but it is firmer to manipulate, which some people find harder. As to the resin, it should not seep in at all. I like the low odour UV resins fro covering jewellery pieces - there are loads of brands available, but these are my preferred two - not cheap, but they work well for me - Deep Shine Resin is here - www.tinypandora.com - Tiny Pandora Crafting Boutique it now seems part of a larger kit. BekBek Resin is here - bekbek.co.uk I hope that helps a little 🙂
