Eating VIRAL FILIPINO FOOD in Famous MANILA MARKET 🇵🇭 Philippines Travel 2024

I went to Quiapo Market in Manila to try Filipino Food but found so much more! We saw Friday novenas at the famous Quiapo Church of Black Nazarene, met friendly market vendors, curious kids, ate the viral pancit Palabok at Jolli Dada's tried yet another halo halo and then stumbled upon Muslim Town where I learned that although Quiapo is considered a pilgrimmage for Catholics, the church lives in harmony with its Muslim residents and that's expressed in a beautiful way through food during the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

try Luneta it's just 1 e-bike ride from quiapo and visit the 3 national museums for free.. Rizal's monument is in the heart of the park. Move to intramuros ( meaning walled city) to have a glimpse and experience philippines during spanish era. Enjoy! ☺️

It's hard to complain because it was the beginning of rainy season so we were just happy to have dry days, but 40C+ is brutal and I feel like it's tough to escape in SEA from April - July unless you go into mountains.

Hi Ayngelina, Carly just emailed me from exploring sumatra. She buys all of her sunscreen from Indonesian online shops. Allan will know the names. Sunscreen cheaper in Whole Foods/Amazon then online. Currently using Badge 30spf 4 face, 1.7oz. Going 2 skin dr tmwr. Great video!

Ahh it must be Shoppee and Lazada. We do use those as Sumatra isn't good for shopping like Jakarta or Bandung. I promise when I head back in a couple weeks I'll have mineral sunscreen, just going to research the best brands in Canada.

@@ayngelina i thought he’s either from Bali or Sulawesi, but nevermind as long as you happy with him and definitely most of Indonesians are similar with Filipinos. Almost every single things both of them are same with also many kinds of differences they have, thanks for replying my comment and please send my greeting for Alan!

Have you tried the pastil or pater there in Muslimtown? It's originally from Maguindanao in Mindanao and the Maranao version is quite spicy. Chicken Piaparan is another specialty dish they have.

We didn't. It was such a surprise for us to see and I didn't have any references for Maranao food. Alan is from the spiciest island in Indonesia so I'd love to get his perspective. But we'll have to try again next time when I do a bit of research about what to see.

I usually get the round ham, sliced ham and scrap ham. The bone-in ham is expensive for my budget.
