Quetico 2023 Fly in paddle out trip Falls Chain
In August 2023 my son Michael and I enjoyed a fly in - paddle out backcountry canoe trip in the Quetico Provincial Park Wilderness.
This was such an amazing trip. Since Michael was a little boy we've been doing backcountry canoe trips in Algonquin Provincial Park. This year including the float plane in our adventure was a wonderful experience and the Queitco wilderness was unforgettable!
Many thanks to @canoecanadaoutfitters for all of their help in planning our trip. We're also very grateful to @sourisrivercanoes4491 for building us such a tough, lightweight canoe that has stood up to the abuse we've put it through over the years.
I'm so grateful for having had the opportunity to do this. trip with my son and favourite backcountry adventure partner!

I am glad to have come across your channel. Well done video; very informative. Especially for someone who intends to make a Quetico trip in the future. I am surprised there are no fishing rods on the trip. I suppose a lot of people will be envious of you for reaching there and not fishing😆. We will definitely be working our way back into your videos. Thank you for sharing your trip. Cheers ✌.

Thanks so much. We actually don't do any fishing, I know that's odd for people visiting Quetico ... we're just in it for the adventure! I'll check out your videos as well when I get a chance!

@@thetrailblaisers7714 Thanks; our videos are not as adventurous as yours. We are more laid-back😃.
That was an awesome video of an epic adventure! You definitely found solitude, beautiful countryside, and some unique campsites. After all of the headwinds, the sail looked like a welcome change! Were you able to single portage? Your Souris River canoe is a pretty ship...I also have a red tigre 18.5 Quetico and it's been great for our Boundary Water trips when multiple daughters come with me. Again, thanks for sharing your trip!

Thanks so much! The single carry idea has been something that we've tried many times. However, even with a lighweight canoe and us going through our gear trying to eliminate unnecessary items we still find ourselves having to double carry. We eventually decided that we'd rather double carry and enjoy the portage than slog it.

@@thetrailblaisers7714 Makes sense. I have only single carried on one solo trip. I'd rather bring a few extra creature comforts. :) I also really enjoy the walk in the woods between carrying loads. Again, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this. Hoping that your son truly understands how precious your backcountry time together is.

Thank you! I'm very grateful to be able to do these trips with him.
Nicely done. I really enjoyed this. Noting the club sticker on your canoe at the end of your video, I should look into that as I'm in the area as well.

@@thetrailblaisers7714 I was looking at the site...I think it's something the wife and I will consider!
Great video!! I instantly recognized Ouimet Canyon. I was there once, and I'll never forget it. Quetico is on my bucket list and watching this video has inspired me even more to get there. Take care, and please continue to share your adventures with us. Looking forward to checking out more of your filming!

Thank you! Yes Ouimet Canyon is amazing. My wife and I stumbled upon this place on a Lake Superior Circle Tour motorcycle trip back in 2019 after a cook at a restaurant recommended it. It's been pretty much empty of other people both times we've gone. You won't regret Quetico, it's an inreadible place!
Please do not insert music behind your voice, we want to hear the nature , the airplane ( the Beaver ), music is repetitive and disturbing , please it is not necessary
