I love it when my medieval fantasy dystopia game throws a scientifically accurate black hole into the mix.

Out of all the possible things to learn more about in the DLC, learning where those Fingercreepers come from was not on my card.

But it was a nice surprise nonetheless. Given how prominent they were in the base game, I thought they had a disappointing lack of lore for such an eccentric enemy type. I never bought into the fan theory that they were the hands of dead fire giants that came to life either, yeah it's a fantasy world with magic but that one was too much of a stretch for me. The bossfight wasn't the hardest and the questline rather short, but I like the trippy areas you had to go to as well as the lore answers it provided.

In one of the item descriptions it is implied that se has been slayed and killed by the tarnished, so that means that she does not run away, but her remains are reclaimed by someone or something.

I could be wrong, but here’s what I gathered. None of this is factual, just a theory, She probably dies and returns to the void. The greater will is not the gold incantations we’re used to. Apparently that is all Metyr and the Two Fingers and crucible related Magic. The revelation of horror is that the greater will left a long long time ago, far before we even thought. Metyr is what was informing the two fingers, and she barely communicated with the greater will to begin with. It was all a ruse! The dlc also states that instead the outer god is literally that of the emptiness of space or at least dwells in it which is . . . Lovely 💀 The greater will is closer to glintstone sorcery in fact, magic that comes from a celestial unearthly body.

Idk why but Metyr reminds me more of Ebrietas. They kinda look the same/ give off the same creepy and disgusting vibe.

Also, a completely optional boss that, lore-wise, is one of the most most important players in their respective games. Both are also hidden beneath a church.

Fun fact if no one else said it yet: Gaius and Radahn were friends/rivals. They even learned gravity magic under the same teacher, if I'm not mistaken. Edit: nvm he reads it

I HATED Gaius when I first fought him, I could never seem to avoid that stupid charge. But after a good hour I figured out the attacks pretty well (still getting clipped by the charge occasionally) and when I beat him I decided it’s a good boss 👍🏼 probably would’ve been screwed tho if I couldn’t chuck my Messmer spear at him every time he rode 50 feet away

I just Realized the Gaius’s armor is a Pinecone. Even the item description says it’s supposed to be a seed.

The Lore implications of this boss and quest are insane! So the Fingers have been abandoned by the Greater Will a long time ago and they deceived Marika and us Tarnished, claiming to deliver the words of the Greater Will when the last signal has been long, long ago and the Mother of Fingers has been left abandoned and broken.

Noooo Prod missed the cool little place near where the 2nd finger ruins are!

"He was second in class behind Radahn in gravity school" isn't that actually somewhat lore accurate? Gaius was taught by the same guy as Radahn if I remember correctly.

Easily my favourite arena in the game, top tier

If you're still exploring and haven't already, you should go back to where you killed the drake in jagged peaks, there's a path to the left and right of there. I suggest going right first as you get some pretty interesting lore about what you'll encounter eventually when you go left

I love watching all these parts out of order as I explore different parts of the game than Prod so I don't get too many spoilers lol.

First time fighting Gaius I just spent three minutes rolling side to side cuz I was far enough for him to use his pebble throw, but instead of closing the gap he ONLY used the pebble throw so it was just a side to side dodge fest for three minutes as I waited to see how far I could take it

Very cool quest. Easy to do too besides maybe getting to the grassy area but I loved it

It also drops the best staff weapon for Omnicasters and I love it.

That spinning ash of war is very good for bleed and multi attack builds. Also you should get a friend to drop you one of those eye items to complete the quest.

Isn't there a second one in a fort?

You can get a second eye of occultation somewhere in Fort Reprimand (unless you got that one, then there's another in shadow keep church district if you drain the water or kill a tree spirit)

You get it from defeating the omenkiller in an area you drop down into on the left of the main entrance.

Man I can't freaking wait to see the awesome bosses the convergence mod team and other mod overhaul authors come up with for the DLC. I mean there is so much new content and as such so much to pull from when creating new and exciting boss and enemy encounters!

Gravity death counter, day 917. 0 Deaths in this video, 122 deaths this year. metyr was such a lore-heavy boss. It sucks we won't get any more answers in the future, there is still so much left in the dark... but i guess not knowing it all is most of the fun, after all

I didn’t see the previous video, but you are supposed to be able to go down under the chair after ringing the first bell. There’s a small dialogue to do with Jolan after you do so and you continue the quest as normal

The Commander Gaius fight is the worst so far in the DLC. I got him down, but he really needs a chill pill and a nerf.

The dark item Prod accidentally ate, there's a light version I used instead. It's what the NPC actually wants, grace from darkness.
