It had worked for me in 63 and still working in 64 , but only in ui (not in apps )

For the controller / hand tracking, I can see a game where one controller controls movement and doubles as a gun and the other hand would be used to grab things or open crates, doors, or even to cast magic. So many new possibilities.. Exciting times to be a VR gamer!

Too bad the controller has to stay in the same hand. If I'm holding a gun and the keypad is on the right I would want to be able to switch gun hands.

All the vision pro elements have been in the works for a long time, that has been a goal of head mounted displays since the 80's when people were wearing 2 3" crt tubes strapped to their heads, with gimbals systems attached to make them seem weightless.

They have improved the hand tracking so much, 12ms is great. I think that is currently faster than even my Virtual Desktop response. Now if only we could get rid of our forced body in the Oculus OS because man am I tired of seeing my noodle arms just bug out and go across the room lol. Thanks for the headsup, looking forward to the update.

That single controller holster thing is a great idea! i would totally play that game

12ms is amazing for hand tracking. Using a wireless controller on a TV for xbox or playstation, you’re getting much higher latency.

I read that hand tracking latency was 31 ms, while passthrough was 39 ms for a total of around 70 ms. With this improvement it goes down to 51 ms, or 28% improvement in response!! Next step, passthrough latency please 😳😳😳

I kinda like the black void. It reminds me that anything is possible, and the headset is a blank slate ready for new adventures and inventions.

I have been complaining about this for the longest time so I’m glad they are doing this!!!

I just bought one today, and i'm extremely disappointed with the controller tracking. I went to play bonelab, and as soon as i got a pistol, i tried holding it steady with two hands. I couldn't aim, because holding it like a normal gun blocks the sensors and they wobble around while I'm being still

Honestly, if they improve manual tracking and its latency, passthrough distortions, detection of furniture and objects in the passthrough, in addition to redesigning the UI design of the quest system, that would improve Meta Quest 3 by 200%.

its weird i had the hand tracking and controller tracking prior to the update, now it dont have it anymore. seems back to only one or the other for me

So i know this maybe a lil wieerd to ask but when im cooking and tasting stuff with headset or even eating it keeps touching stuff on screen does this new uodate fix this or maybe they can guve us a gesture like double tap or fingers together to disbale and enabke hand tracking as we need it

I already have that feature you showed at 2:10 of the video I got it with v64 me and my friend was playing one day and I quit the app and it gibe you 2 option to go to your friends home or your own home and when I clicked to goto my friends home he showed up in my Mixed Reality environment and I don't have the multimodal feat or the layout app either so I am confused as why I am no getting every feature with my updates

When are we going to get the quest 3 v65 update. I still don’t have it? How long does it take for them to roll it out?

Multimodal will be totally confusing though. I don't play games. I use my headset for medtiation apps and watch videos/movies. Is this automatically enabled or is there a way to disable this feature.?

I thought the hand and controller mix would be like Index finger tracking on Quest 3 controllers using the hand tracking, but it's still cool.

Do you think someone will produce actual controller holsters now so you can easily switch from controllers to hand tracking and back?

Sure would like to be able to pin my three app windows where I want them when I'm multitasking in passthrough. The hand suppression will be nice if it works well.

ummm... I don't get it. Shared space in local multiplayer, spatial videos, multimodal controller+handtracking and other stuff you mentioned...all of that has been working on quest since long ago in stable versions.

Some cool updates there. Thanks for sharing. What we really need is a way to organise our apps and games though. It seems ridiculous that meta does such frequent updates and we can’t use folders like in smartphones. It’s stopped me trying many new titles now and I’m sure I’m not alone in having a backlog Ive never played.

If Vision Pro is so far behind why are so many updates being made to mimic the Vision Pro?

5:29 - Don't have to, Metroid Prime in VR would fit that perfectly, one gun, I'm surprised Samus never ended up with a super mode double wielding her Arm Cannon (plus duplicate).

i like that idea of only having one contrroller and use your other hands freely to reload.. but this only makes the issue of not having any feedback and weight and feeling only bigger. there are so many great ideas out there that sound good on paper but reality simply isn't there just yet. we literally need brain compute implants to take over the world for this to happen.

I just wished they would fix the WiFi instability 😢😢😢 dropping signal every 30 seconds is killing PCVR😢 (And I’m using an ASUS Rog GT-AXE16000 router, 2401mbs and it happens on 6G and 5G and am 33” from the router)

Nice to see the regular updates they're rolling out, but the one I want the most is probably never coming, and that's the ability to just completely turn off the boundary. I'm really tired of having to re-add it every few days, and it's not something that should be forced on us. It's especially annoying when I'm playing something, I take the headset off for 5 seconds, put it back on, and it forgets my boundary.

If you enable the developer mode you can turn off the boundary! Sidequest allows you to do that as well

@@DiscoVRTetiana Both Sidequest and Developer mode seem to be a little more technical than I want to get. I agree with Turtle. I just want to turn it off sometimes. Mostly, I appreciate it. I just want the control. I think it would be okay to have it hidden in settings and with a warning when you toggle it off.

I work at SideQuest as a day job, and a big part of my job is making sure people understand that enabling a dev mode is actually very easy (just sounds intimidating because people assume you need to be a developer technological guru lol). Also, SideQuest is a must have for all Quest users, you're really missing out! Anyway, I also run an official SideQuest youtube account. here, I made a short explaining how to enable a dev account (yes, it's literally less than 60seconds :) - kzread.infold8ExSQShfs Sorry for such a long comment lol, but as someone who represents SideQuest, it is my duty to break misconceptions and myths around it!

@@DiscoVRTetiana Thanks a lot for replying to me. I'm a writer, photographer, I build my own computers, and I enjoy technology. But, I'm now older and dealing with coding to get something to work is just something I think that I'm really done with nowadays. I purchased a Pimax Crystal and returned it immediately, because it was such a mess to set up. Is it useful to have developer mode? Of course!!!! I use developer modes on various software and games and it is very useful. But the point that I'm making is that I'm not really interested in learning anything beyond what I need. So, if I *NEEDED* to get into developer mode to get the Quest to work, then I would. But otherwise, I will not. And it's a shame really. Just put those wonderful tidbits deep in the menus. No one who is tech-insecure will go too deep into any menu system. Then we wouldn't need sidequest or developer mode. You would just set it normally. BE NORMAL MeTA! :) Oh yeah, btw, I'm totally cool with 1000+ word responses, because I grew up with books and TV instead of 180 character limits on Twitter, etc.

​@@TJM-2023 okay sure I understand:) so, maybe something about SideQuest will eventually feel like you NEED to enable the dev mode :) a few things include: - increasing the resolution of games (makes most games look sooo much better), sideload custom homes (instead of the generic default home environments, imagine your home environment turning into a Starry Night painting - yes, there is a custom home like that, and over a hundred more) - VR game ports (depending on what you like, there is Doom, Half-Life, Quake, Tomb Raider, so many of the old classics. For many people, those are the main reason why they get introduced to SideQuest. But of course there's much more than that, too much to include in one single comment!

"Party at Home" sounds like it could be a very bittersweet apology to the old school Oculus Go users that fought to keep Oculus Rooms... lost... then had to watch Apple Vision Pro get praised for this "revolutionary new thing"... when in reality Spatial Personas is just a copy of Oculus Rooms. Unfortunately only the tenured enthusiasts know that... so now we're gonna have boatloads of VR newcomers talking about "Meta trying to be like Apple".

hey, thought I'd comment and say that I haven't removed any comments from my channel in months, but you're not the first one who's letting me know of disappearing comments. The thing is, YT removes them sometimes, or it sometimes gets removed if another user or users report it. I myself only remove derogatory/racist/homophobic/xenophobic/sexist comments, and judging by the comment you just left, yours probably wasn't anything like that. Sorry it was removed, maybe try commenting leaving it again? Also I have certain filtered words because I often get bots spamming on my channel so several words are filtered out and those comments also get automatically removed. try rephrasing certain things and see if it works. I find it interesting that youtube would do that, but I do know that other users can remove their own comments as well, so maybe it is people posting something and then regretting and removing it later. Happens to the best of us. At any rate, none of the comments that are highly volatile or extremely trollish have anything to do with you. That's my main intention. Just to comfort you in that there are a lot of losers, but generally people enjoy your content. I think what happens to many people is that they attribute extra attention to negativity and reduced appreciation for positive commentary. Not that it is intentional, but rather something just human that we do. I hope that you will continue to grow past bad commentors and better value those who greatly appreciate you. Best wishes!

All new features seem to be awesome. The comparison of quest 3 and vision pro is lame and weak. All KZreadrs need to stop that nonsense. The vision pro is Bentley of VR headset for tech with all hd cameras. No matter how you look at it getting better bang for your buck with quest 3. It would be nice live in 5000sf house but why when it's only me. The point is who you trying to impress spending $4k on first gen headset. Tell me where can apple go after such an expensive first gen headset.

True, the value comparison is absolutely INSANE. Avp makes Q3 look incredible! The best way to make a 500 dollar headset look like a steal is for the competition to release a much worse V1 for 7x the price that can't do nearly as much stuff and has much less developed options and settings. And practically 0 VR/AR software support months in. But hey that lava lamp clock is pretty sick.

Can you do professional work on an android chip? Edit 4k or 8k video use photoshop, 3d modeling with more then simple polygons? Don't even try to compare a mac book pro chip with facebook phone chip. But for kids and simple gamers facebook quest is great But some people want a car instead of a bicycle.

That's why they go for opening up their os so others company maybe got it implented. When do we get multiple screens on quest? Thosr same 3 screens in a raw is so 2017. Don't get me wrong i hate apple as much as the company facebook. But avp parts beats quest in every way. And great parts cost more a 2k television is cheaper as a 4k television.

How is it a war of Headsets lol, there isn't even a realm where there could be a comparison between the Quest 3 and the Apple crap, purely because for their to be even the slightest comparison or fight, there needs to be a common price point or at least close enough to make sense. Be like comparing in any way a Lamborghini to a Morris Minor, well they are both Cars with four wheels and doors so must be the same and so a war between the two is fine, so many idiots on KZread. You can't even mention the two in the same context, an Apple piece of crap is over seven times the Price of a Quest 3, therefore to even try to compare the two means the Apple crap is way overpriced as to compare they would need at least a similar hardware spec, considering the Quest 3 has a superior GPU to the Apple, where does the Apple for its price point out class the Quest 3 ? Had Meta spent a few more dollars on Oled Lenses and Eye tracking the Quest three would have been superior to the Apple as the apple still needs to be tethered, it's not cordless, unlike the Quest 3 which is fully untethered and cordless. Stop the comparing of the two as it's not possible to do in any sort of reality and any noobs watching may believe there is some reason to buy an Apple Headset as in some way it's supposedly a better unit, where as it's not, for the price, the Apple is a piece of junk and doesn't even come close to how much better the Quest 3 is and I am 100% talking about price to features and nothing else and in this the Apple doesn't even come close to a Quest 3 as the whole family can have a Quest 3 plus still change to buy apps as well as accessories compared to one Apple. By the way, I have repaired Apple products since the iPod and first Apple Mobile and so I know how badly made their technology is.

Honestly, I'm not all that impressed with multimodal tracking until it can track more than 2 controllers and hands at the same time, i.e. so we can have our controllers inside a gunstock for shooters, whilst doing off gun manipulation with hand tracking like racking a bolt, swapping magazines, handling grenades, etc.
