--------
In this clip, Quentin Miller talked in depth about the Drake ghostwriting situation and how he ended up working with him. Quentin detailed working with Drake in the studio, specifically for the track “No Tellin” which he said was a moment that felt as if he were just recording in the studio with friends. So much so, Quentin thought he was part of the OVO team, but later found out that wasn’t necessarily the case.

@@Ontiming2023After listening to the reference tracks it’s fair to say Drake didn’t actually steal anything, Drake put his own verses in and also flipped some of Quentin’s ones. Apart from the hook or bridges Drake did his own verses. However what separates them is that Drake’s flow, cadence, voice and just the way he rides a song is elite and like you said how he structures a song aswell. I feel Drake should of kept Quentin close to him.
@Setogayamari

@@Richnigg840yeah ive heard some of the tracks to, honestly not understanding the whole "drake stealing" thing. Quentin seems to prove the experience was very back and fourth, as well as a very COLLABORATIVE process. People had me thinking Drake was stealing stuff disrespectfully and using plagiarism. Just sounds like he felt he didn't need Quentin anymore, seems like Quentin thought this was some friendship but it was very clearly all business. Quentin seems to have incredible amounts of talent and doesn't get enough attention, but it seems drake learned what he needed and moved on. Drake also addressed this in an interview and spoke very respectfully about the situation Unless im missing something, im not seeing the hate

@@Setogayamari You’re right. However I will say the reference track for Legend by PND Drake did use a lot from it I guess he couldn’t be bothered for that one. Quentin said that Drake told him without his contribution the album wouldn’t of happened and Q does seem like a very nice guy problem is I’ve heard is music I mean it just wasn’t for me, that’s the area I praise Drake in, his ability to make sound good. Still feel Drake should of kept him close but I guess after what happened he couldn’t anymore.
That’s a wintertime classic album. Every year I listen to it around Dec-Feb and it’s the perfect vibe for those dark early cold days. And I agree with Q, “No Tellin” is one of the best tracks on it the way the beat changes

Take care, so far gone and nwts and a crazy feat run (stay scheming verse in my top 10 for him) was already out years before IYRTITL. By the time that tape dropped drake already had his sound down. This tape just sounded like an extension of what he was already doing. It was by no means a break through or a revolution in his sound just a really good tape. I think people overstate QMs importance to try to knock drake but he was the same artist before and after QM. The only thing that really changed over the last 7/8 years was the listener.
