I loved Antoni’s routine! A couple additional notes after re-watching this: you can’t “open” your pores with a toner and while it’s completely fine to spend a lot of money on your skincare products, it’s not necessary. 👍

I know that this reply is a bit late, but I just watched this video and saw your comment. Like, I am already proud I got my boyfriend to use a moisturizer (his skin is so dry it was literally pealing off before). I try to make him use cleanser but it's unsuccessful so far. Although I'm sure he loves to moisturize his face, I can see that.

One time I asked my boyfriend if he had a moisturizer I could use after the shower because I forgot mine and when I was about to get into the shower he seriously handed me his body lotion. Like a scented drugstore body lotion and I have very dry and sensitive skin. He is so bad with skincare. The only thing he thankfully takes care of is his beard.

@JasminMiettunen

For the others here, keratosis pilaris can't be cured, but it *can* be managed! You can soften the bumps snd reduce redness eventually, you just have to keep at it. After a shower, seal in the hydration by putting on moisturiser on damp skin. This is the only place in my beauty routine where I use silicone, it really seals it in. Personally, I don't like putting on lotion after a shower, so I wait for an hour and then spray a mist of water on my skin before moisturising. Chemical exfoliators also soften the bumps, but I don't have personal experience with that yet :) Simply, chemical exfoliant, shower or water mist, and moisturiser is the recommendation.
As someone who has severe environmental allergies, it’s so nice to have someone who brings up allergic reactions to “natural” ingredients. Took me so long to realize my skincare was heightening my allergen sensitivity 🤷🏼♀️ chemical girl all the way now
You should react to Liv Tyler’s skincare routine with Vogue!

Thanks for pointing out potential issues with the melatonin, I like Antoni but I'm pretty sick of this particular sponcon that offers solutions to possible medical and psychological problems in the form of completely unregulated supplements that look like snack food.
@Hollyhock7
4 жыл бұрын
Lol. Have you ever tried melatonin? For people that aren't producing enough on their own, they can have tremendous results. Its helped many people with insomnia and other sleep issues.. I never promote it for everyone, and there are other natural remedies to try first, but just because its "unregulated " doesn't mean it's an ineffective or unsafe product. (The FDA has a lot of sway and bias toward promoting pharmaceuticals first and foremost. It's their known inside agenda, look it up) There are safety and testing practices within the natural supplements industry, that make sure companies are pure and true to what they state about their products. And their are typically huge boards of actual biochemists that formulate those products you are dissing. Just food for thought. ♡

OMFG IM SO EXCITED
Susan! Awesome point about "organic" and "natural" products. There are many natural products that I love but it sucks that people are using these terms in an almost militant way (and there is some scaremongering involved too), especially given how sensitising many "natural" compounds are. I wish more companies created products using blends of synthetic and natural ingredients. I'm a big fan of using safe, non-reactive synthetic products as their production is more controlled and they sometimes are better for the environment anyway - why cut down forests of willow bark trees when you can synthesise salicylic acid in a lab? But I can understand why some people want to only use nature-sourced products (I tend to go all-natural/food grade on my lipstick myself so I can be a bit of a hypocrite I guess).
I really enjoyed that also..my son is about the same age as Anthony, he also is great about his skincare, and I'm very proud that I started him on sun protection before he was 2 and he kept up with using sun protection to this day. He also showed interest into Mens Clinique in his early teens and still is taking care with nice men skin care to this day. So it's good you had Anthony on because when sons, husbands, boyfriends are overhearing a man on your series, it just enforces to men that it's normal, and they too may also pick up good advice from the men about skin care too.
I love your show, thanks for teaching us a lot of beauty secrets, hello from Costa Rica 😎

I totally agree with you that a moisturiser can do just as good a job as eye creams. Ive bought many expensive eye creams in the past. I see no difference personally between carefully applying a face moisturiser to the eye area and eye creams in the past I have used. The area looks moisturised and dewy either way.
Funny how this guy has a better skincare routine than some women I know who wear a ton of makeup daily

Love him❤️❤️❤️
He didn't say the toner and Vitamin C serum unclog his pores. He said they even out his skin. Also, to say that men have thicker skin because it tends to be oiler is a broad generalisation in many ways. If there is something to critique here, it is the fact that he didn't recommend using the Tata Harper cleanser before the face wash. Loved the fact that Susan pointed out the greenwashing that tends to overlook the potential irritants in "safe" organic skincare.
