Brings back a lot of memories. I lived in Queensbury (York Street and what was called Granby Fields) in the mid to late 1960s. So many of the photos brought back memories of my younger days!

Such a fantastic video!, thank you so much for doing our request, we really enjoyed watching this, and learnt a few things we didn't know about Queensbury along the way. Can't wait to share it with family members who grew up there. All the best.

Great video . Brings back a lot of memories i grew up in Queensbury i left to come to Australia when I was 11. We lived in the chapel house for a while my dad used to do the caretaking there ( I think i was around 3 or 4 ) , He also worked nights , Many times I went to bed there and woke up at my grandma's , as my mum got scared during the night and went to her moms !, Then went home for my dad getting home in the morning . Needless to say we didn't live there long !.

well it did take a little while, but enjoyable ;-) - i try to just put a little history to make it different than just showing images ( queensbury has a lot of history, but didn't want to overdo it!)

Harrowins - I delivered newspapers to Harrowins in the 1950's, the house still existed in 1956, the occupiers at the time were called Carrington. Very interesting. Could add lots more - Deanstones Lane, Long Lane, Fosters hostel for the Italian workers, Roper Lane up to Raggalds.

Excellent. Fascinating to see how things used to look. I was hoping that there might be a photograph of Catherine House, (Upper Shiden Hall). Also perhaps, one of the lodge house on Swalesmoor Road which is presently being renovated. I remember that it used to have a set of wonderful (though rusty) wrought iron gates with box sections. I suspect that they were possibly stolen for scrap as they mysteriously disappeared some years ago. Would anyone possibly have a photo of the lodge with the gates still in situ? I would very much like to see how they used to look again. Thank you for sharing all these wonderful old photos and of course your splendid video.

Queensbury and Shelf had their own UDC prior to 1974. Shelf was fortunate to fall into Calderdale while Queensbury had the mis-fortune to be incorporated into Bradford.
