I’m in Lanegan’s books right now. If you haven’t, read Sing Backwards And Weep, he is an amazing writer, very descriptive. Best book I’ve read in a while.

I listened to the ‘Weep’ audiobook cause I love his speaking voice almost as much as his singing voice. Just haunting hearing him describe a life that’s so delicate and also so painful at times that it’s hard to stop listening once you start.

I looked around for his pedalboard setup but nothing listed the fuzz factory. I saw some pictures with a Vintage Univox Super Fuzz Original Orange. Could be a combination of things how he's getting that tone....?

My first memories of QOTSA were of Josh Homme. Awesome musician. Then I heard and saw that Mark did some work with the band. HOLY SHIT!!! He has always had the calm...swagger to him and always would let you know he's the man. He owned this fking song LIKE A BOSS. Disagree. Each era had its best parts. I’m loving the latest version live.
This is better than the studio, and the studio is flawless. Somewhere there's a universe where Mark said yes to Josh's offer of lead singer and everything they did sounded like this.

He was very unique, that's for sure. He gave me goosebumps the first time I heard "Song for the deaf" live, with Dave G. on drums. And boy, we're talking LIVE!! Long live Mark Lanegan!! A legend.💋💋👏🌲🎙🎼🎤🎸
Back when every song by QOTSA live sounded different from the original. Every song left spaced to jam. Not that I don't like new QOTSA because I really do, but these live performances were awesome.
I love the sound of Josh's guitar on this. QOTSA rules! I wish Lanegan would have done more on Era Vulgaris and toured with them again.

@@analogdistortion2906 thanks I didn't know about that pedal, I've been checking it out on KZread it's crazy, and does some cool stuff. I looked around for his pedalboard setup but nothing listed the fuzz factory. I saw some pictures with a Vintage Univox Super Fuzz Original Orange. Could be a combination of things how he's getting that tone....?

NEMUR24 Both are on the album I had. Bonus track, live. Maybe this was it. The Ghost notes (Joey or Dave) were much clearer though.

My first memories of QOTSA were of Josh Homme. Awesome musician. Then I heard and saw that Mark did some work with the band. HOLY SHIT!!! He has always had the calm...swagger to him and always would let you know he's the man. He owned this fking song LIKE A BOSS. I never got to see him in person or to see him play live but DAMN I WISH I could have. Long live Mark Lanegan

Meh, I always thought Joey had a style that fitted in with QotSA much better than dave... but at the moment Jon Theodore knocks them both right into the middle of last week!
So privileged I saw this lineup in the Enmore Theatre in Sydney in Jan 04. A far cry from home in Ireland, backpacking around Oz, with Songs For The Deaf as a companion, my god what a treat.
