22 years ago today, my Mom passed away. Cruelly taken at just 53 years old to Cancer. At her funeral, as her final song, her last goodbye, she chose this. It wasn't for her, it was for my Dad. She was saying thank you to him for being her friend. To this day, it remains the purest show of love I've ever seen in my entire life, and perfectly sums-up the relationship they had. If I could, I would love to personally thank Queen, and in particular John Deacon for recording this song. It still lifts me when I'm down, and reminds me of the most wonderful Mom I could have wished for.

Saw Queen do this live in Philly in November of '77, with a very dear friend. I held her up on my shoulders for most of the concert. A night I'll never forget.

Freddie was disgust of electric piano, which he would later explain a mediocre cheap-looking (and like stuff) one against grand piano. So Deaky took it home and tried it, leading to creation of this song. While Freddie acknowledged the song's greatness, (Their recording session had never been peaceful. Bri said in every session of it, there's always one who cursed out loud and said "That's it. I quit!" In a band where everyone was genius, all were perfectionists about their album.) he still spoke non-positively of eletric piano, the very origin of their hit. Even during tour, Freddie would play grand piano for this song.

Whoever came up with the saying that a dog is a man's best friend is right. My little dog is 14 and still going strong and he is my best friend. They're always by your side. Dogs love their owners so much they will even try and put their lives on the line for you.

There's a fundamental knowledge of each other as you hit a wavelength taking you in a new and beautiful direction. Yes. I have a friend, younger and having a tough time. When I almost made horrible decisions, she said : "Don't listen to ppl who say bad things. You're not that kind of person. You have a real heart." Now , with my head held up high, I am returning the love. Open heart makes the best friendship. Her son brings me smiles. She has taught me to succeed at being the best man possible. She is also romantic. Gotta love it :)

This is actually the anti-friendzone song. And imo, maybe the sweetest love song ever. John Deacon wrote it for his wife, and learned to play the piano just to make this song (Freddie refused to play the electric piano). John is still married to her, and they had 6 children.

One of the many things I love about Queen is that they were all songwriters. A lot of bands have one or two main writers and occasionally one of the other members will contribute a song or two every other album but everyone in Queen wrote and each of them is responsible for at least a couple of essential tracks from the band's discography.

All 4 members of Queen have written at least 3 Number Ones (the only band in the world to have all members do so), meaning that the whole band is in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.

I didn't realize, when I was younger, that this song was a Queen song. I still can't believe the amount of stunning songs these 4 artists wrote. Its ABSOLUTELY mind blowing!!!

John Deacon wrote this song about his wife. This song features a Fender Rhodes electric piano, which was a popular choice at the time, with many rock songs by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan using the instrument. John Deacon wanted to write a song incorporating the instrument, but Freddie Mercury did not want to play it. "I refused to play that damn thing," Mercury said. "It's tiny and horrible and I don't like them. Why play those when you have a lovely superb piano." So Deacon took the Rhodes home, learned to play it, and started writing this song.

Honestly my favorite Queen song. It's just pure and joyful and so spirited. You can just hear the love Deacon has for his wife. It's so simple too, which emboldens it for me. It's true love in the form of music.

I still think this is the most accurate song about true love.
