Queen Victoria's Top Secret Vacation From Motherhood | Royal Upstairs Downstairs

Antiques expert Tim Wonnacott and chef Rosemary Shrager travel in the footsteps of Queen Victoria exploring the houses, castles and stately homes she visited throughout her life.
At the time of this visit, Victoria had been on the throne for seven years. She was only 25 years old but had already had four children in four years. Prince Albert thought it would be the ideal place for the queen to recover from the arrival of Alfred, their fourth child, born just a few weeks earlier. They stayed for three weeks and it cemented a lifelong love affair for the royal couple with the highlands.
From Elizabeth II to Cleopatra, Real Royalty peels back the curtain to give a glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential families in the world, with new full length documentaries posted every week covering the monarchies of today and all throughout history.

In 2009 I saw a travel show about London and they showed all the books in the British Library treasures collection. It took me 10 years but I finally saved up the money and saw them for myself. It's so cool that tv and internet can open up our worlds so much.

I love watching everything about Queen Victoria 👸🏻...I just purchased a First Edition book called “Queen Victoria’s Journal: Our Life in the Highlands” by Author Helps dated 1868, published by Harpers...the book may be old but it is absolutely Gorgeous with a deep red/maroon cover and the title in gold lettering...after I watch this I will be diving into my book to read it....I look forward to searching for more books on her journals. Such a shame her daughters destroyed some of her journals thinking they were unfit to be published. Thank goodness she turned to Arthur Helps to help her publish this book of some of her memoirs...
